terrible ping for last few days

I'm down in dorset, everything is very sluggish. Very close to switch hence:

Data rate:19.999 Mbps / 79.999 Mbps

Maximum data rate:30.650 Mbps / 114.100 Mbps

Speedtest gives 74 / 13 (thats low)

ping to something like bbc is around 190ms.

traceroute is 160-180ms to the first hop. thats worse than i had on dial up years ago!

First hop (to the router) suggests that the issue is within the local network. Exactly how is the device connected to the router?

Ethernet
Direct WiFi
WiFi extender
DLAN devices
Mesh network

Also what else is using the local network?

In another browser tab, login into the Plusnet user portal BEFORE clicking the fault & ticket links

@nurkinator thanks for getting in touch, I'm sorry to hear your ping is so high.

I have done a line test and no faults have been detected, can you check by connecting the broadband cable into the test socket instead for me please. Also, can you confirm which router you are currently using, any Wi-Fi booster, Mesh system, etc.

found out what it was - OneDrive has gone nuts. even though i'm out of storage (5gb) over the last 2 days since i rebooted the router:

Data sent / received:205.4 GB Uploaded / 47.8 GB Downloaded

it was sat there trying to upload a 6gb video.. doh.

absolute piece of chod!
