Its happened again - Cant upload to our web space

Hello all

I wonder if someone could please help with the issue we are having again uploading our website to our plusnet hosted domain name.

We are using mobrise to write our website and its built in ftp client to upload.

The settings are:

ftp.plus.net

port 21

plusnet username

plusnet password

sub-directory: /htdocs

These settings upload the web site to our www.mywebsite.plus.com URL but do not load to our plusnet hosted domain of www.mywebsite.co.uk

The website domain is active and plusnet have informed us that it has not expired and that they do indeed host the domain name.

Support have suggest someone on here may have the answer.

Thanking you all in advance.

Re: Its happened again - Cant upload to our web space

What exactly differs between the two sites? At a glance they look the same to me.

Can you please clarify your issue, explain EXACTLY what you perceive to be going wrong.

  • Title states can't upload but text states that the settings upload the website

That suggests that contrary to the title statement, uploading did not encounter any issues ... unless there was an error report that part of the content could not be updated.  Can you please clarify - were any errors reported during uploading?

  • The text suggests that the content was uploaded to one domain, but not the other

If www.mywebsite.co.uk simply points to www.mywebsite.plus.com then they are one an the same.  There is no separate upload to each.

However from your browser's perspective, www.mywebsite.co.uk and www.mysite.plus.com are DISTINCTLY DIFFERENT DOWNLOADS - is it possible that to see new content in www.mywebsite.co.uk you need to clear the cache on YOUR browser (or do a refresh whilst holding the SHIFT key)?

You could try accessing www.mywebsite.co.uk in a private window in the browser - that will not use pre-populated cache content.

Re: Its happened again - Cant upload to our web space

Thank you for reading and replying to my post.

When trying to publish the website via FTP using the mobiriise built in FTP client and testing the connection the client reports successful connection.

However, when then trying to upload the website via the same FTP I receive the error message permissions denied.

Hope this helps

It helps a lot and reminds me of issues in this space to do with passive / active FTP modes - see ... https://community.plus.net/t5/Business/Webspace-cant-upload-files/m-p/1859829#M4845
