Website being Blocked bu Plusnet

Hello - we launched a site on 4th December: https://4love.uk/

We noticed it had been blocked on Plusnet - incorrectly classified, so requested an unblock via blocked.org.uk
We followed this up with 2 separate communications via email to Plusnet to request the re classification of the site. In addition to this the BBFC have also requested on two occasions that the block is lifted.

It is now 27th February and Plusnet is still blocking the website.

Regards

Liam

Re: Website being Blocked bu Plusnet

Hi @LDWS and welcome to the Plusnet Community Forums.

I have been able to access that site from two different Plusnet accounts.

I've also been able to access from one non-Plusnet account.

Re: Website being Blocked bu Plusnet

Probably irrelevant, but it works on my NON Plusnet account -

Re: Website being Blocked bu Plusnet

Thanks for coming back to me.

We’ve had a few customers with a security certificate not trusted. It’s also still showing in blocked.org.uk as having restrictions - so I’m not to sure what the issue is?

Re: Website being Blocked bu Plusnet

Suspect it could be being blocked by Safeguard rather than the standard DNS servers.

So is that a setting an individual user needs to change? Sorry not too familiar with SafeGuard

Users can opt to use or not use SafeGuard: it somewhat looks as though those of us not using SafeGuard can access the site without difficulty.  Where is your intel coming from advising that Plusnet users cannot access the site?  Have you asked if they are using SafeGuard?

AIUI SafeGuard users can whitelist sites.

Re: Website being Blocked bu Plusnet

I use Plusnet's DNS on a Plusnet account, no problems.

We could really do with some who's using SafeGuard to try to access the site.   Any volunteers ?

Re: Website being Blocked bu Plusnet

@LDWS, zScaler are also blocking you:

I see from blocked.org that CloudFlare Family DNS and EE are both on the list as well.

Re: Website being Blocked bu Plusnet

The zvelo web content categorisation checker is reporting -

Given the "Safeguard" is intended to allow unsupervised children to safely access the internet on Plusnet connections,

it will probably be the "Pornography" and "Mature Audiences" categorisations that would trigger "Safeguard" blocking ?

Re: Website being Blocked bu Plusnet

@LDWS

It is apparent that the real issue is the assessment of your site by the big safeguarding providers ... not that (specifically) PlusNet is blocking it.

The domain name is suggestive of something which the site appears not to be - that is probably a key contributor to the issue.  You are going to have to put effort in having the site removed from block lists...

What is URL Blacklist and How to Fix It? (geekflare.com)

In looking for some silver bullet for you, I came across this analysis platform - VirusTotal - Domain - 4love.uk - look at the site content tag!!  I think that points to your issue.
