Seen a PPP drop yet? If not, reboot your router and the new profile will take effect Smiley

Re: 20Mb on Value

Hi pierre_pierre,
I've just run a DSL status check and checked your profile on our side, all seems to match up so we may be looking at a poor performance fault here.
We'd recommend raising a fault, let us know if you need any assistance.
Adam.

Re: 20Mb on Value

@pierre_Pierre I'd have thought, by now, you'd be easily beating my download speeds so looks like a fault somewhere.

Re: 20Mb on Value

yes its peculier
Just tried my netbook with linux via ethernet, mybroadband speed test
up 886  down 12145
BT speed 8886 down
but this XP laptop on the same router wifi is giving bad results, I thought that the BT test went from the router, so why the difference?
Its a long time since I mucked around with settings, will check SWMBO netbook next that has XP

Wifi will quite often give bad results. Yes its 54Mb in theory but you'll never achieve anything like that in reality. Probably closer to 20Mb on a good day but likely much less than 10Mb if you've got any neighboring Wifi networks or more than 1 device connected.
The BT test still downloads to your PC on which you run the test so will be influenced by the connection method to the router.
