I believe so, however you'll only be able to change your username during the initial 30 days of the migration.

I'm not sure why you would?

Assuming someone does want to delete their forum account, can they and if so, how please?

Before migration - definitely not as it is too tightly linked to other things but after - it should be possible but I don't know

Re: Community Update - Changes are coming!

This must be the most active series of post for a long time;7 pages in two days!!!!
I only hope that the move will not create chaos, all the advice that I have received on the existing system has been most helpful, so any deterioration of quality of posts and displays will be most unwelcome indeed!

Re: Community Update - Changes are coming!

It shouldn't create chaos - just one heck of a lot of puzzled posters trying to work out how to do things
Hopefully there will be a comprehensive FAQ to cover most of the points
However there are a few of us regulars who have been privileged guinea pigs to try it out and we have hopefully picked up most of the abstruse points

Re: Community Update - Changes are coming!

I confess I haven't read the whole of this thread.
I contribute regularly to Lithium forums for Sony, Sky and BT and yes they all work well. I use a desktop PC and hope they format the same on a large screen.
Only issue I've had is email notifications can stack up only their server and have been notified of replies to my posts as late as 25 hours after a reply. I reported the issue to Lithium with full email traces, they didn't reply, but it has got better recently. I hope we don't suffer the same.
Just a comment / warning.
Good Luck with the change

Re: Community Update - Changes are coming!

Why are they spamming you with emails?

Re: Community Update - Changes are coming!

They are not spamming me with emails. Like now I should get an email when a reply is made to a thread I have subscribed to. This alert took 1 minute to send me a mail re your post. However I have found that a Lithium board, it might have taken many hours to send me a single mail because of the volume of emails being sent to many subscribers. I hope that makes sense.

That's an interesting observation. Will have to keep an eye on that.

I don't think that is acceptable. PN need to be asking questions about of Lithium.

Re: Community Update - Changes are coming!

We've seen nothing like that happen yet, if it does happen when we go live then of course we'll ask teh question.

Re: Community Update - Changes are coming!

I assume an issue like this would be based on server load, which I would think may be minimal within your test environment. It would also depend on how many mail servers were being used by the host to deliver these. If each client (like PN) have their own it may be a non starter. But if the mail server is used to deliver all of the emails from all of the hosted fora then it could easily get worse once Plusnet's load is added.
