What a crap advert. I am glad Plusnet  didn't waste a lot of our money on that. £5.00 for the ad agency and £2.50 production cost would just about cover that.

Oddball,
I prefer the Quarry ad to the one with the Pidgeon in it. What didn't you like about it in particular? Don't worry I won't get defensive, just interested to know.
Most people seem to like the ads, some don't (which is to be expected with anything like this).

Re: Eh up, we're on telly!

I think positioning yourselves a Yorkshire provider is a mistake as your advert is broadcast nationally.
If you are positioning yourself for local business the advert should have been restricted to local TV in your area.
Why do you think buying broadband is preferable from Yorkshire? Is the broadband mined deep below Rotherham or is it cast at Forgemasters in Sheffield?
Is it because all the staff are born and bred in Yorkshire? I think not.
I wouldn't particularly choose to buy something from Yorkshire per se and I am even less inclined to be persuaded by advert filmed in Bob Pullen's conservatory with phoney local accents and a pigeon on someone's head.

Re: Eh up, we're on telly!

LOL.... Bob probably hasn't even got a conservatory! Wink
I much preferred the quarry one, which I think is great, but not sure the pigeon one has the right  sort of message ("don't worry if your marriage is going down the pan, at least you can get cheap broadband"!) ... although both have a fun self-deprecating idea.
Having said that, neither is really bad (especially compared with the really rubbish adverts on TV these days!)
Basically they are a bit of fun and are trying to say Plusnet is about no-nonsense broadband at a great price, and that you can trust a Yorkshire man to hunt out a bargain!!!    Grin

Had a look at the adds on Utube and my first impression was they are, I'm afraid, amateurish. I'm sorry to see PlusNet continuing the "Pile em up, sell em cheap" trend. Something will suffer I'm sure.

The main selling point of this campaign is to convey the message that we are able to offer the cheapest prices whilst maintaining a good quality of 'plain speaking' support.

I shall give someone in marketing a prod (don't worry I'm sure they're used to me doing that now) I'd like to hear that too...
