Re: Home Phone Price changes and Line Rental Saver

I would have thought so, as it's the basic package, but it's not expressly stated. The same as in that link appears in the rest of the packages (for example Anytime)

That Evenings and Weekends calls are included is mentioned in the Broadband Legals footnotes on the page - see attachment.

change to the Line Rental Saver ( £113.88 a year) would I still have E&W calls?

Yes, the clue as to what the saving is against is in the name Wink

Surely not if you're with BT... LSR is £120 there with free Caller Display. Otherwise the services appear to me to be the same - so sorry, I've stayed with BT.

free caller display? Do you have a special deal. I don't see that offered anywhere?

Re: Home Phone Price changes and Line Rental Saver

While Caller Display alone is not free on BT, they do have a package they call "Privacy at Home" which is free, and includes Caller Display. In fact, apart from registering you for TPS, it *only* includes Caller Display. You'd think they wanted to hide it Wink

The main reason I stay with BT is because of what happens if my line is down:
  • Anyone trying to contact me can report the fault to BT (Plusnet refuse to do this citing the DPA)
  • I can have incoming calls diverted to a mobile for free
  • BT are a lot quicker at processing the fault and getting the engineer called out
It's not what the service is like when things are OK that matters it's how things are handled when something goes wrong.

  • Is that on a residential line though as the calling feature costs extra? Only 1471, 1571 and TPS/Caller ID are free with BT.

Yes on residential - but only for the duration of the fault obviously!

Can you divert my calls to another line while I'm waiting for the fault to be repaired?
To keep you connected, we can divert your calls to another landline or mobile, free of charge. This can easily be done online or by calling:
    Residential customers call:
    For free on a BT line 151 For free on a non-BT line 0800 800 151 From a mobile 0800 800 151 (there may be a charge)
    Business customers call:
    For free on a BT line 154 For free on a non-BT line 0800 800 154 From a mobile 800 800 154 (there may be a charge)

I've never been cut off but Dad was and he was offered the "divert to mobile" service.

BT service is very reliable (touch wood) but nice to know it's there. Doubt the callers would like to see their bill though!  Wink
