Home Phone price changes - October 2012

Evening all,
I'll probably expand on this post tomorrow but just wanted to post in an official capacity to say that we are currently in the process of sending emails to our Home Phone customers to make them aware of some price changes that will come into effect towards the end of next month.
The email looks a little like this.
Unfortunately there was an oversight with the first batch of emails that resulted in them being sent from an incorrect sender address:
From: Plusnet <Plusnet@comm.bt.com>
Reply-To: bt.athome@bt.com

The links in the email were also redirects via a tracking system we normally use for sales-esque activities, e.g.
http://intc.tractionplatform.com/id=5477,18235933,112432460,241311,1?erl=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.plus.net%2Fnewcallrates%2F

Please be assured that this email *is* genuine and we'll be aiming to rectify the discrepancies for future sends. More info here.
Thanks for reading and apologies for the confusion Embarrassed

Re: Home Phone price changes - October 2012

I have made this post a temporary sticky for better visibility.
Can any discussions on the price rise or the inadvertent tracking links etc. take place here.
I will lock the other threads related to this but would request that if posters want to have their posts here for discussion they repost them here either as new posts of as quotes from the original posts

Re: Home Phone price changes - October 2012

Where has that come from I can only see an increase of £1.50 for anytime calls in the link in Bob's post
Of course you could pull a fast one and sign up for 12 months phone rental in advance before the price rises  Lips_are_sealed

Re: Home Phone price changes - October 2012

The highest possible increase is £ 2.00 per month , £ 1.00 for line rental and £ 1.00 for any time calls with 300 international minutes.
Edit: Link removed as not needed

Re: Home Phone price changes - October 2012

Maybe Mary by mistake added all three together to get the £2.50, that isn't a crime IS IT !!!!. It certainly did not deserve the response of "where has that come from"

With a pending price increase,  it appears now is the time for the tardy (like me) to get the Line Rental Saver before they get round to upping the price of that too...  Angry

It was made on the basis that I wasn't sure if she was talking about the BT announcement or with the Plusnet one and I had missed something.
It wasn't intended to be a nasty response but a simple query

Re: Home Phone price changes - October 2012

Whist they maybe cheaper than the " big three " still, some of the smaller providers, are cheaper and offer more standard features  Shocked
Also this is PN second price increase for line rental in 10 month, first was December 6th  2011.

Re: Home Phone price changes - October 2012

I’ve received the e mail
My problem is I have the basic broadband package as a backup
I have anytime calls and paid my line rental in advance
I am now coming to the end of my 12 month contract and have seen fancy adverts from talk talk
What should I do

Re: Home Phone price changes - October 2012

OK, explanation accepted, but with a bit of a hmmm :). Accidents can be truly accidental or....!  How long has PN been part of BT and operating more or less independently? IMO it only does so because as long as .that suits BT.
BTW does BT have any other ISP in a similar relationship to PN's?
Sorry for cynicism, but it's from years of my work environments. ;D.
No one has to agree with my opinion, but in the time I have left a miracle would be nice.
