It seems they are all doing this.
Mine changed to 250GB on the 20th but my billing date is the 11th next month.

This is due to a known problem (ref: 72437).
Does that mean I've not really got 250GB yet?
If I have, where's the problem  Wink

I bet nobody 'suffering' from it thinks it's a problem!  Cheesy

Now been told I've got to wait for 23rd even though was supposed to switched on the 20th according to everyone I spoke to! What a waste of time running speed tests and hanging on the phone for support.  Angry

Yes, you do have 250GB. From a consumer perspective, it's not really a problem Gerry. It's just not the expected behaviour from a development perspective.

It should actually complete tomorrow Ian as per the information here. Your situation is slightly different though. You requested the account change on the 15th and your billing date was the 20th. This meant that your account changed before the modify order had chance to complete.
I'm going to have a word with the advisors you spoke to who didn't spot this when you called :mand:

Re: Launch of new Plusnet Fibre Products - 80/20 and 250GB usage allowance

I was notified that mine was 'live' today - upgraded to the new Extra Fibre. My allowance has changed, my connection speed has shot up - BUT - my speed has stayed the same as on the 40/2!
I have rebooted the router and modem.
Is it a time thing or does someone have to 'flick the switch'?
Sad

These two statements appear to contradict!

Possibly! Should have said my line speed is now 78Mb, but my speedtest results show only around 40 - as it was before the upgrade.

Re: Launch of new Plusnet Fibre Products - 80/20 and 250GB usage allowance

What does this say your line is capable of (just the "WBC FTTC Broadband" bit) and what does this say your BRAS rate is?

Re: Launch of new Plusnet Fibre Products - 80/20 and 250GB usage allowance

First one says: 65.9Mbps and upstream line speed of 20Mbps.
Second one says: BT Recorded Line Length to Exchange (m): 1928
Thanks for your interest in my issues!!

Re: Launch of new Plusnet Fibre Products - 80/20 and 250GB usage allowance

Just got the last bit of info: Looks like BT refused to test, possibly because a speed test or BRAS check has been run recently which prevents this tool from working. Try again in a few hours.

Re: Launch of new Plusnet Fibre Products - 80/20 and 250GB usage allowance

If you had run a full BT diagnostic speed test recently that would explain the lack of results from the BRAS check. It would be handy to know the IP profile/BRAS rate though - if it is higher than 38.72Mbps then you have been upgraded.

Re: Launch of new Plusnet Fibre Products - 80/20 and 250GB usage allowance

Thanks for that. I did try the speedtester.bt.com but on a Mac it always stalls for some reason. My Line Speed on my Plusnet profile says connected at 78Mb though.
I'll try another BT speed test later on my PC.
Thanks again for your help.

That is misleading, it doesn't mean you are "connected" at 78Mb, it just means that you are on a Plusnet profile that is suitable for the 80/20 product.

I realise that, thanks. Please see attachment, I should be able to download at a higher speed than before I was on the old Extra Fibre I would have thought.

Re: Launch of new Plusnet Fibre Products - 80/20 and 250GB usage allowance

Yes, with a 65Mb estimate you ought to. My estimate is 58 and I get just under 70. But there are factors that can negatively impact that.
