You should probably trumpet this from the rooftops a bit! Makes the Pro add-on a bit lame though ...

Indeed I've been running without the Pro Addon since the 15th August and so far I have noticed very little difference. In my opinion it is no longer required as the only real slow down is between 8pm and 11pm for p2p/usenet. A very wise move PlusNet.

Pro allows you to P2P/Usenet at peak.
Also, if we do have some congestion at peak hours, and your game isn't identified, you might see it suffer.  Pro would mean it would work fine.

That a major relaxation of the throttling, which is now zero except with Usenet / P2P between 8 and 10 PM.
Does Pro do anything else in terms of prioritising traffic?  Otherwise as KevinG noted £5 for faster speeds for only 2 hours a day isn't such a good deal any more!

yes, i've just removed my pro add on as it isn't that good a value any more either. maybe it should have some other incentive eg 24/7 priority, multiple static ip, extra 50gb etc? i'd be willing to pay for that rather than just the 2 hours priority or if the network becomes congested.

I agree with that (but didn't like to say).  What's really happened, though, is that the base products have improved so much that 'Pro' is simply less necessary but it's still available or those who want to remove all throttling.

I've just looked and for some reason the order hasn't submitted, I've placed it manually now for you so that should be with you in a day or so. We're also checking to see if anyone else if affected.
Router just arrived. Thanks again.  Smiley

I've had the pro addon enabled ever since I had FTTC installed just over a year ago, since I really cannot stand speed throttling.
With these changes though, I'm seriously tempted to remove it and see if I even notice.

Mine has gone through -

And this time (compared to the trial, which was an epic failure for me) it has worked!
Going to cancel my Pro add-on as it's now completely useless to me! good job I checked here or I wouldn't have known I was wasting £60 a year.

PN put you on 40/10 if your line estimate is below 40Mbps, as there is no benefit to you and it costs PN more per month.
