Oldjim has passed away

It’s with great sadness that I announce the death of former Plusnet Community Moderator and long-time contributor Oldjim.

Jim passed away at the end of March after his battle with Cancer. I've been in contact with his Wife who has given me permission to inform this Community where he’s spent so much time and helped so many and I'm sure he'll be missed by all.

I’m sure that the whole community will join me in sending our sincerest condolences to his family.

Re: Oldjim R.I.P.

NNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNoooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo!!!!!!!!!!!!!

A tragic loss to our forum. Nobody will ever be able to replace OJ, he was the great oracle of this board, always able to come up with facts, figures, problem solves and witty remarks.

I was just thinking the other day that I'd not seen him post here for ages and was wondering if something had happened to him.

RIP OldJim, I will miss you way more than you'll ever realise.

Very sad news. Oldjim will be sadly missed. He was an excellent moderator keeping us all in order sometimes during difficult times. He was a very frequent and well informed contributor to the forums.

Condolences to his wife and family.

Really sad news indeed.

I had the pleasure of meeting him once during a Moderators gathering at PN HQ.

A real gentleman.

Re: Oldjim has passed away

I'd go as far as saying I had the honour of speaking to Oldjim over the phone last year.

I was truly saddened to learn of his passing. Cry RIP.

From 31st October 2022, I no longer have a regular presence here as I’ve moved on to a new role.

Re: Oldjim has passed away

Old Jim really set the gold standard around here for everything. One of life’s real gents.

Miss him greatly ... I realised a month back he’d been missing, but the mods had no news at that time. Jim’s last post was 8th March ... one can imagine that he was here contributing right up to his last days.

RIP OJ.
