Re: Peak time latency spikes

That's probably the effect of the DLM. It increases interleaving and FEC to stabilise the line. Which reduces throughput and increases latency  Sad

I changed cable from bt socket to modem to shorter one, it was changed back a couple weeks ago but speeds and btw profile not gone back to what they were previously and plusnet profile went down also.. Maxing out connection when it's off peak...

Re: Peak time latency spikes

englishrick the DLM kicked in that fast  Shocked , you can't turn off your modem give it a moment and fire it back up like with the ADSL.
I did reboots of modem/router on my old ADSL now and again, i never got a bad profile, well unless i did it in say at 11pm at night.
I maybe off on hols later in the year i usually shutdown the modem and router but now i may have to rethink that.

Re: Peak time latency spikes

Try to avoid disconnecting the modem for a while, it can take weeks of stable connection for FTTC to raise the sync. speed if it has dropped due to instability or high errors.

Re: Peak time latency spikes

My IP profile came back up after 4 days but drop was only 5Mb, never did find out why it went down overnight, but leave all alone and hopefully it will settle down

Yesterdays white boxs stats and another day of no problems looking better by the day that PN guys have solved the 8-10pm problem, and todays results looking good so far.

Not advised to turn off/reboot the modem as englishrick knows!

Re: Peak time latency spikes

On ADSL it wasn't much of a big problem the DLM, is it that critical now on FTTC, 1 reboot of the modem and your speed drops.

Re: Peak time latency spikes

Have you not read the PM I sent you. Yes Fibre DLM is quite aggressive and is NOT like ADSL DLM!
