but am on unlimited and have been for about a year.
The Unlimited product was only launched in December http://community.plus.net/forum/index.php/topic,110092.0.html .
There was an older Unlimited product around briefly some time ago and I believe COT offered that to some customers. Didn't think that was part of the price changes though, It's only Extra and Value.

Re: Pricing/Terms changes - October 2013

I've just received an email about price increases in October, so only 3 weeks after this thread was started! Angry
Apologies if this has already been asked, but I'm not in the mood to wade through 18 pages of replies.
I've been trying to determine whether the increase applies to me, I'm hoping to get a definitive answer that customer service seems unable to provide. The email states,'This will only apply if you don't have Home Phone with Plusnet.'. Well I rent my phone line from BT, Plusnet's parent company, so I presume this won't apply to me.

Re: Pricing/Terms changes - October 2013

Hi,
I received the email a few weeks ago and at first thought the surcharge might apply to me because in the small print it mentions Surcharge and Broadband only subscriptions. Then i read the email might be incorrect but now after reading some comments here i'm confused again.
I signed up to the Broadband only - Plusnet Unlimited - No Contract service in June 2013.
Does the £1.50 surcharge apply to me?

Does it say unlimited if no, then no charge for you.

Re: Pricing/Terms changes - October 2013

Their's no mention of Unlimited - the main email doesn't mention anything about a surcharge just two points about the change in notice period and the change in cessation charge fee. It's the small print that mentions the £1.50 surcharge for broadband only subscriptions if you don't have line rental and calling plans with Plusnet.
Hopefully it won't apply to me.

As of 1st  October, a £1.50 surcharge will apply to Value and Extra broadband only and Value and Extra fibre optic broadband only subscriptions

Does not apply to Essentials or Unlimited, only the previous products.

Re: Pricing/Terms changes - October 2013

Exceptionally stupidly worded and confusing email if it doesn't apply to me. Presumably they know which service I am on? If so why say:
"From the 1  October 2013, the cost of your broadband will increase by £1.50 per month. "
If it doesn't actually apply to me.
A better crafted email might have saved them a lot of aggro and wasted CS time.

Re: Pricing/Terms changes - October 2013

i also recieved an email today after requesting my Mac code and got the following below, note i highlighted in bold the £33 charge,(i,m currently on the unlimited package) even tho it quite clearly states i can leave penalty charge free in my price hike email. can someone explain why i have to pay this when i shouldnt have too? due to price hikes, and if its a mistake why are these email even being sent out with charges in them like i ve noticed on this thread?
Before we can close the account there are some outstanding fees
remaining. Please note, the fees will vary from those shown. This
depends on when your move completes, so you may have other subscription
and/or call charges outstanding. Because of this we're not able to give
you an exact amount right now.

The fees are as follows:

- Unlimited £33.00

- Promotional discount adjustment for 9 days £1.50
- Broadband service refund for 9 days £3.00

If it says that, it applies to you I'm afraid.
The line Lee0101 is talking about is a footnote explaining that if he moves his line rental away, the charge will apply.
The emails have been written based on your circumstances.  Don't let what other people are talking about on here confuse it as they may well have received a different email.

Re: Pricing/Terms changes - October 2013

Hi Kelly,
The way the footnote in my email is worded is "As of 1st October, a £1.50 surcharge will apply to broadband only subscriptions (where line rental and calling plans are not held with Plusnet)."

Confused.
