The email has not been sent 100% If you had any sense, you would send me another one.
I would advise new customers not to sign up to plusnet, as they are not capable of being clear and will put the price up mid contract.

Quote from: PhyllisTyne "From the 1 October 2013, the cost of your broadband will increase by £1.50 per month. This will only apply if you don't have Home Phone with Plusnet. You can avoid this charge by taking advantage of our new Essentials or Unlimited broadband and phone packages, from as little as £5.99 a month with £14.50 monthly line rental and inclusive Weekend calls for 12 months. If you don't want to change your broadband package, you can also choose just to switch your Home Phone to Plusnet, and still avoid this price increase. "
That's not what the email notice logged against your account says?
Can you private message me with a full copy of the email you received and I'll look into it?
Quote from: MisterW The Unlimited product was only launched in December http://community.plus.net/forum/index.php/topic,110092.0.html .
Quote but am on unlimited and have been for about a year.
There was an older Unlimited product around briefly some time ago and I believe COT offered that to some customers. Didn't think that was part of the price changes though, It's only Extra and Value.
It is only Value and Extra.
Quote from: Bimbler I've been trying to determine whether the increase applies to me, I'm hoping to get a definitive answer that customer service seems unable to provide. The email states,'This will only apply if you don't have Home Phone with Plusnet.'. Well I rent my phone line from BT, Plusnet's parent company, so I presume this won't apply to me.
It /does/ apply to you because BT Retail are supplying your land line service rather than us.
Quote from: Lee0101 Does the £1.50 surcharge apply to me?
No it doesn't Lee. Sorry for the confusion.
Quote from: PhyllisTyne Exceptionally stupidly worded and confusing email if it doesn't apply to me. Presumably they know which service I am on? If so why say:
"From the 1 October 2013, the cost of your broadband will increase by £1.50 per month. "
If it doesn't actually apply to me.
As above, that's not what it says on the copy of the email recorded against your account. I'd like to look into this to make sure something dodgy hasn't happened so please can you PM me a copy of the email you received if you're able?
Quote from: scoobydoo1 i also recieved an email today after requesting my Mac code and got the following below, note i highlighted in bold the £33 charge,(i,m currently on the unlimited package) even tho it quite clearly states i can leave penalty charge free in my price hike email. can someone explain why i have to pay this when i shouldnt have too? due to price hikes, and if its a mistake why are these email even being sent out with charges in them like i ve noticed on this thread?
The emails are generated automatically I believe and the charges are present if the person who dealt with your cancellation didn't void the contracts on the account first. I've just added some comments to the open support tickets on your account to clarify the situation. Hope that helps puts your mind at rest.
Quote from: mighty What a flaming joke plusnet are. I still have not received any email at all from PN about this.
We haven't finished sending the emails.
Quote from: mighty You make out you sent it on my ticket but you have not. Stop telling lies to customers will you.
I can see no record of it being sent so apologies if you were told this. There's no record on your account. You can check this yourself by looking for closed tickets/service notices using the ticketing system/Help Assistant on our website.
Quote from: mighty The email has not been sent 100% If you had any sense, you would send me another one.
You'll be sent an email in due course. It will be sent to the primary email address we have on file for you (same place your Direct Debit notifications go to).
Quote from: mighty I would advise new customers not to sign up to plusnet, as they are not capable of being clear and will put the price up mid contract.
I think this is more a case of you having not received your email yet. Apologies if you've been led to believe otherwise.

The reason for the confusion is because your email address is the primary contact for two separate accounts. One is an Unlimited account (not affected by the £1.50 increase) and one is a Value account (that is). If you're unsure who the other account belongs to then drop me a PM and I'll give you some pointers.

A very interesting point on 'without penalty'.

VERY intresting indeed, plusnet care to comment on this? or are they keeping tight lipped in the hope no one would bother to complain about this and getting a partial refund on line rental saver?

And as it's plusnet that's doing the breaking they should be the ones paying out.
Reading here it all looks backward.

Quote from: billnotben Maybe I'm being naive but I'd always thought that if for whatever reason you break a contract there's a penalty to pay.
I'm not affected by this AFAIK but it is fairly standard to have a clause in any contract that allows for such things as price increases. I would have thought PN would have looked into this prior to sending out their emails.

Quote Changing these Terms (notification)
Sometimes, we will need to change the charges and the Terms and Conditions of the service. We will publish details of all changes online at http://www.plus.net.
We will also let you know about a price increase or a change to the Terms and Conditions that we believe is likely to cause you material disadvantage at least one month before it happens. We will let you know about other price changes and changes to the Terms and Conditions via email to the contact email address on the account and by adding a service note to your account. Account Service Notes can be viewed at http://contactus.plus.net/
For changes we need to make to meet legal and regulatory requirements, we may not be able to meet the timescale detailed in paragraph 44. We will let you know about these changes as soon as we can.
If we have made a change which is to your material disadvantage, you will not have to pay a charge (excludes any charges or payments we have deferred) if you decide to end your agreement early, unless the price guide says otherwise. However, once we have told you about such a change, you must let us know that you want to end the agreement within 10 days.

Quote If you or we end the agreement for the service, we will pay back to you any money we owe you relating to that agreement.
That's a good bit as well.
