It's been mentioned before they seem to be quoting adsl speeds not adsl2 ones.

Thanks for that, obviously missed it  Embarrassed

Re: Unlimited/Essentials product launch December 2012

Rang the options team but the best they could offer would be almost £36 per year more than I pay now.
I know I'd get line speed all day long rather than the imposed restrictions now but I don't need it, especially with my current speeds, so I'll leave things as they are for now.
If we move to a fibre enabled area next year then I'll rethink.
But it was worth asking Smiley

...... I was under the impression we'd removed the price promise as part of yesterday morning's roll-out?

Quite possibly, I found it on Google's cached web pages.  And you are not saying that Plusnet have dropped the Price Promise for existing Value customers, are you?

It never was valid for existing customers - only new ones as far as I know

Really (assuming that remark was addressed to me)?  So there was "Value"and "Value with Price Promise"?  When did the Price Promise start?
Thinking about this more, you cannot seriously mean that the slogan should have been "We won't be beat on price unless you are a loyal existing customer"?

Re: Unlimited/Essentials product launch December 2012

I took it to be a price promise when the offer was taken up and that price wouldn't change not that a subsequent lower price by another supplier would trigger a further fall

Re: Unlimited/Essentials product launch December 2012

The price promise was only at point of signup, not for customers who had already been with us. In reality if a customer sees a better deal then they can contact our customer options team and see what we can offer them to stay.

Re: Unlimited/Essentials product launch December 2012

I received the following SMS messages from plusnet regarding a recent call to the CSC:
"Hi! Plusnet would love to have some feedback on your recent conversation with the team.  If you have 5 minutes free please visit:"
That page doesn't seem to exist anymore - presumably as a result to the changes made yesterday?
Could someone take a look?  (and provide me with the correct link if you want me to fill it in!).
Regards,
Jonny.

Hi Jonny,
Sorry about this - it's a known problem.

Re: Unlimited/Essentials product launch December 2012

Just put in my request to switch.
I assume I'll keep my static IP block of 4
I assume I'll need to re-request Max Premier as I did last time I switched product.

Re: Unlimited/Essentials product launch December 2012

I just realised it makes most sense to switch from :
Fibre Extra (250Gb @ £20pcm) to
Unlimited broadband (Unlimited @ £10 pcm)  ... ie NOT Unlimited Fibre
Since this puts me back where I was before, but saves £9 pcm (used to pay £19 for unlimited) ... nice but
the web site not seem to allow that purchase? In practice speed is similar.

You signed up for an 18 month contract didn't you - if so have you checked the cancellation charges

Re: Unlimited/Essentials product launch December 2012

Just in case anyone is wondering, the cancellation charge on the Unlimited contract (not fibre) is shown as £66.
Maybe it should have been 666 Smiley

Re: Unlimited/Essentials product launch December 2012

I tried to change over to unlimited from the portal via product change, however it does not give me any option to change to.
