As I see it, the reason Plusnet have increased the cost of the unlimited product is that people are using more data than expected and they want to cut their losses on those accounts.

The average use on Unlimited is 35GB/mnth with 80% using less than 60GB/mnth. Considering those figures, there's a large proportion of customers who stand to save money by moving to Extra.
....

So am I right in translating this to mean 20% of current users have meant that the price needs to increase by £5 so Plusnet can make a profit.

Yes, after the initial payment request via Direct Debit failed. Look at some of the recent service notices in your ticket history and you'll see exactly what I mean. Also check what it says in the emails we send you.

I'm struggling to understand what you're asking. Sorry.

The 60GB you quoted is total usage, not peak usage. There's a chance many of those using above 60GB might still be better off on Extra.

I've now changed your account across. It will take effect from your next billing date.
In other news, I have an appointment with the pub now so don't be surprised if I'm not around for a while Wink
I've also got a 30 mile commute back home that might be fun given the weather situation in these parts! Shocked
As soon as I get the chance, I'll pop back into this thread and answer/address any questions/concerns that have been raised in my absence...

I was looking at the matrix you linked to.
Also on that page it states
Quote
Stuff you need to know
† - Home Phone changes from 4th January 2011: Line rental will increase to £11.99. Off-peak calling hours will change from 6pm – 6am to 7pm – 7am. There will also be some changes to call plans:
Evening & Weekends – 300 free minutes to landlines removed.
Anytime – 25% discount to mobiles removed.
What does this refer to as it doesn't link from the International calls

I think that's a typo and should refer to the international minutes, I'll get somebody to take a look tomorrow...

This should now be fixed! Cheesy

@BOB
Could you shed any light on the points I raised at the top of page 7?

Re: VAT Increase & Price Changes - January 2011

@Giro
Yes they are a change in contract terms except for the VAT change and that is why you have been given 30 days notice during which time, if they are detrimental to you, you can cancel or move suppliers.
The notice period is in any case 10 days for residential customers so you can leave without breach of contract even without the change of contract.
As I understand it you may still be liable for any deferred charges on your account.

Re: VAT Increase & Price Changes - January 2011

Does the £1.50 processing fee for card payments include VAT, if not that should read + 20%

This page http://www.plus.net/residential/bundles.shtml
