Quote from: Mand
Hi there,
Deferred costs are separate from your contract, and do need to be paid if you choose to leave for any reason before they're written off. These are costs we have already incurred on your behalf, and our T+C's state that these will be payable should you cancel within 12 months.
Can I ask which of the changes you're particularly unhappy with?
The part of the charges I'm most unhappy about is the switch to 7pm-7am as the off peak period. One of the key reasons I picked PN because the off peak was 6-6. I you want to change the period then those who are 'locked in' should have been left on the old period until the end of the lock-in.
I've offered the router back unused (as I have no wish to make any gain out of the transfer to my new ISP - frankly this is all a tedious nuisance) and the least PN could do is accept that. Refusal to take it back as an alternative to charging for it (bearing in mind that 48 hours ago I was just another satisfied customer) just bemuses me. Still, as I have explained to the support centre, it's up to you to decide whether you really intend to drag this through the courts. I'm not prepared to pay and you've lost my business either way.

I agreed to this service because I wanted the broadband and the international minutes,. You have now changed the terms of service to a major degree. I would want to 1) return my router and not get charged or else I too will cancel my direct debit.
I am astonished that plus would so change their services but not offer any reasonable alternative to customers who signed up in good faith.

You need Plusnet broadband to get the Plusnet phone but you can shift the phone away with no problems except you can't move it to an LLU supplier such as Talk Talk

Quote from: Bob You could well be right on that note Bud, I'm seeking clarification as we speak...
Edit: OK hands up, I made a mistake with that one The debit cards that can't be used for recurring payments are Maestro & Solo, Visa cards are fine.
And what about debit mastercard? I know they are quite new but I am not sure if they have the same rules as maestro or not.

Debit Mastercards are essentially the equivalent to Visa Debits, and operate under broadly the same conditions as them, and generally priced in the same way by processing agents. If a company accepts MC Credit, then they have to be prepared to accept MC Debit too.

Quote from: spraxyt Well this "rip off" as you describe it will mean I pay £0.76 less per month for the services I use. Sadly realignment of charges to cover increased costs always means there are winners and losers.
So how are you paying less, when PN have not announced any price reductions?

Quote Are you making any other changes?
Yes we are. We’ll be retiring our existing Talk Anytime product and launching a new Anytime product at a lower price point. The calling plan for this new product will cost £3.50 as opposed to £5 and will be available from 4th January 2011. You can take advantage of a three month free offer by registering your interest

Quote from: Lynda That's good news but sadly you seem to be in the minority.
I also will be paying less as I have already stated on here before, I would disagree that we are in a minority group just because we signed up to Talk anytime when we joined!
There are possibly just as many Talk anytime customers as Talk evening and weekends customers and I would imagine that many of those never used the 300 international minutes as I myself didn't.
Therefore It could be said that the Talk anytime customers have been subsidising the 300 international minutes to the tune of £1.50 per month!

I currently pay a total of £28.82 per month of which £24.53 is for Plusnet and the rest is VAT.
From January I will be paying the same total but the amount for Plusnet will reduce by 0.51p each month to £24.02.
I regard that as good news!
