Anyway to CLEAR the notifications?

I have pages of them and no way to get rid of them that I can see.

The notifications on the feed cannot be removed, only the 'new' status can be cleared by visiting the notifications page.

Seems a waste of space really, I don't need/want to see what was happening a week/month ago.
Why not add the ability to turn them off completely? Personally I hate them.

Its not possible to turn off the notification feed on a single user I'm afraid.

@jaread83, I'm with @HairyMcbiker on this one. Once these have been seen they serve no other purpose, any chance these could expire after (a user defined) N days. Or change the selection method to only include those from the last 24 hours for example.

That would be a nice addition but I cannot change how the notification feed works.

The only thing I could suggest would be to override the CSS in your browser to hide all the notification links and counters.
