Many thanks to @HarryB, @Anotherone @spraxyt and others for their help on this thread, appreciated it.

Harry has managed to fix it.

aka ians2

Looks like it was my own-domain email causing the problem.

Would there be any point having a word with my hosting provider about that, do you think?

How approachable are they with this sort of problem? Probably worth an initial enquiry though.

If they were rejecting the verification email I suspect you'd have the same problem if you tried changing the email on your proper account to the domain one again (because that will trigger sending a verification email). Roll_eyes

Very. Approachable, that is. I'll see what they say. Could run into probs elsewhere.
Not fussed about changing back email for this.
New forum is working well on phone (bar known glitches), previous was rubbish!
All round I think this I better.
Feel sorry for PN struggling with this, know what its like transferring large fora! Hats off to @HarryB for sorting my issue, pretty quickly it has to be said.

Who hosts your domain mail if you don't mind me asking?

Hi Bob, sorry, didn't see this earlier.
Vision Internet in Cheshire. About 11 years now. Not spoken to them about this yet, be interested to see what they say as never an issue with them yet.
