Re: Contacting members direct and off Forum

@Mav

Well as @gleneagles pointed out Mav, if a member was offensive via a private message to another member (or even here for that matter) then if it was reported to the police they would be required to supply a copy of what was said ergo, plusnet can see them if they want to...... unless you are suggesting that they would not be able to do that.

Just saying. Smiley

Re: Contacting members direct and off Forum

I do not think I'm quite seeing the problem here ... if one is concerned that someone (other then the addressees) might see the content of a PM (not explicitly stated in the OP) ... surely the answer is do not send anything private, sensitive or that disclosure might give rise to embarrassment.

We seem to have such great concern over who can see what we write, yet so little concern about what we actually write.

@Townman

So what you are saying is we should assume nothing is private, even when we think it is.

Well that sounds about right, but our egg sucking granny knew that anyway of course - she just thought she'd ask. Wink

Re: Contacting members direct and off Forum

Good morning just love the witty response!

Not so much egg sucking but reflecting on what I see as a generic issue around such matters ... it seems little different to the gripes people have about how secure their info is in public systems (e.g. Facebook) - if the subject matter is that sensitive, just do not put it in a public place.
