Well, interference aside, I'm with Plusnet on this one Roll_eyes
The present structure is fine.
Leave it alone.

How about a response from someone at Plusnet please!

Not sure why you feel so strongly about this TBH, but I fail to see what an email to Anthony would achieve?
We're agreed that a restructure is required and after trying and failing to really get things off the ground last year we're finally making some progress.
@A Fox is Evil, don't worry you guys will get to see the proposed layout before it happens.
@jelv, both parties are almost entirely agreed on what we want, but there's a few niggling things that we still haven't come to a definitive decision about. The suggested layout has already done the rounds and the vast majority are happy with it.
I'm sure you'll agree there are more customer-affecting problems abound at the moment that are far more deserving of our time and attention?
We haven't had any fallout with the mods either so feel free to retire the tin hat! Wink
Even if the structure had been completely finalised we still need to refresh our staging platform before we can proceed.

Re: Discussion Thread for new Community Forum Structure

One reason I'm so concerned is that the Comms team is failing dismally to keep up to the standards set by James. The number of topics which I see that require a prompt response from a member of Plusnet staff which don't get picked up or are only picked up after significant delay worries me. One reason for this could be the current layout of the forums which means that these posts are scattered around various forums. I'd like to see this excuse eliminated ASAP.
Are you going to meet this challenge?

Here's a challenge to Plusnet and the moderators: get it done and dusted before the anniversary.

Bob - yourself and Plusnet ought to be pleased that people (customers) are passionate about this website. After all, it is the Plusnet shop window so to speak.
You would have much to complain about if nobody came to the forum and made it what it is.  I am trying to get my own forum up and running now and I would be delighted if I had as much interest and enthusiasm as you have in this one.
I know that you are all frantically busy making money for BT but please don't forget about we lowly 'old-timers' so to speak.
We've been here a long time, giving time, help and advice which in the end all helps Plusnet.
If so many of us want a simplified version then why can't we have it sooner than later? As has been said, it would also be much easier for Plusnet staff to navigate to and locate problems.
And yes, I totally agree that our James is sadly missed!  Sad

It probably is BT holding things up, thay say that it is good to talk, but not to them, sow I think BT want the forum to be like BTCare Community Forums if that is caring for there customers I will eat my hat, Plus thay have more tracking code than you can shake a stik at on that Forum and on there sites.

I hope that I am totally wrong that PlusNet is not letting BT there lord and masters diktate to them on how the Forum should go!

Where have we used this as an excuse? I agree it would be nice to see the forum layout changed sooner rather than later and it's very close to happening, a much better place than it's been in month's previous. I really don't envisage it taking a whole lot longer to finalise.

I certainly hope so, and unless anything unforeseen crops up then we will. It certainly won't be deciding on the final layout that holds things up much longer.

And we are pleased, I certainly didn't mean my post to come across as if we're not. I just don't think emailing Anthony was apt considering the situation.

Re: Discussion Thread for new Community Forum Structure

I've had enough.
The moderators keep working hard, and all Plusnet do to reward that is continually delay things. It is, in my mind, a mark of a severe lack of respect; it's like agreeing to meet a friend at 12pm, they text at 2pm to say ‘sorry I'm running a bit late’ then they arrive at 4pm. You'd be very annoyed if that happened unless there was a brilliant explanation for it, and I similarly am very annoyed that Plusnet keep doing something similar. I have been trying for months and months and months to get this restructuring sorted out, and every time I think we're getting somewhere we end up stalling. More recently, I have also been the one to undertake more of the restructuring work (e.g. preparing a beta for the community, rewording forum descriptions, investigating permissions), which is perhaps why I out of all of the moderators am particularly frustrated.
So Plusnet: I give you another of my little ultimatums. Start working with us properly, or I cease all further involvement in the forum restructuring process. Not much of an ultimatum I know, because the rest of the moderators can no doubt carry on fine doing it without me. But I'm fed up of being continually let down by yourselves and just meekly putting up with it. Enough is enough.
P.S. I've posted this publicly because my many behind-the-scenes attempts to get things moving never seem to work, yet as soon as someone moans at Plusnet publicly in this thread, things start moving. I don't care if it makes me unpopular at Plusnet towers; my allegiance is with the Community, not the company that makes a lax attempt at supporting it.

Re: Discussion Thread for new Community Forum Structure

With the backlog of tickets I suppose it was inevitable that the forum restructure would be put on a very low light.
