Forum Rules

@Mav wrote:
Moderator's note(s):

Several posts with offensive images (along with any direct replies) have been removed.

Posting such images is not in the spirit of a family-friendly forum as well as breaking the Forum Rules regarding explicit images.

Perhaps there is need for more clarity on what is allowed and not, and what is meant by family friendly forum, particularly as:

A.

This forum is limited by its terms to those over 16 years of age and specifically requires a tick confirmation of that when signing up.

B.

As a defined example - The British board of film classification for 12 and 12A classification is as follows

Language

There may be moderate bad language. Strong language may be permitted, depending on the manner in which it is used, who is using the language, its frequency within the work as a whole and any special contextual justification.

Nudity

There may be nudity, but in a sexual context it must be brief and discreet.

Sex

Sexual activity may be briefly and discreetly portrayed. Moderate sex references are permitted, but frequent crude references are unlikely to be acceptable.

Threat and horror

There may be moderate physical and psychological threat and horror sequences. Although some scenes may be disturbing, the overall tone should not be. Horror sequences should not be frequent or sustained.

There appears to be no limitation on natural processes in animals eg defecation, particularly with cartoonised or comedic representation even on a 12 certification.

What there IS in that classification:

Discrimination (12)

Discriminatory language or behaviour must not be endorsed by the work as a whole. Aggressive discriminatory language or behaviour is unlikely to be acceptable unless clearly condemned.

https://bbfc.co.uk/what-classification/12a-and-12

A 15 classification (as the site is limited to 16+) is even more tolerant of what might be termed risqué,

BUT is still quite defined in the discriminatory content

So as the site specifically precludes children under 16, Please clarify.

I would also suggest all moderators read the following to understand how their actions may make the Forum owners liable for their actions regarding any remaining content.

https://www.pinsentmasons.com/out-law/guides/moderation-liability-and-terms-of-use

I'm sure none of us want to break any legitimately defined rules.

It's pretty clear.

He wants to be a moderator.

He's just airing his credentials.

@RobC

My magenta highlighting above.

Isn't it strange how the word 'frequent' reoccurs throughout your examples above.

AIUI 'frequent' is a synonym for 'repeatedly' which is something you don't seem to understand, given your habit of continually (whoops!) re-posting your quotes and Rhino-sore-a55 gifs ad nauseum.

Edit: typo

Re: Forum Rules

The rules are clear and frequently reviewed & updated where necessary.

Quoting the BBFC is nether helpful nor relevant.

If a member is unhappy with a rule or feels that a rule has been broken then they are free to use the Report to Moderator function or PM one of the moderators directly.

As moderators we have to bear in mind that this forum is part of Plusnet and, as such, we aim to maintain certain high standards. We do give a little leniency within General Chat but there is still a limit on what is acceptable within the aforementioned rules.

But as always, you are taking that out of its context that none of the terms or uses I use are classified beyond mild bad language at the most, if at all in the BBFC - the pre-eminent classification - check out even the U cert specifications

...  Yet discriminatory language requires clear disapproval in ALL those classifications.

You repeat brexit lies continuously, despite then being disproved rationally and evidentially

- which a number clearly consider offensive, myself included.

So in simple terms for those apparently struggling with comprehension :

To allow adherence to site rules and terms, What is the documented basis of the 'family friendly' described censorship here when the reality seems clearly at odds with:

* BBFC classifications (the official ratings and standards I am aware of)

* The site being 16 years plus per site terms and sign up.

* The routine censorship of common terminology and simple usage even the 'strongest of which would barely raise an eyebrow in a BBFC 12 cert (most not even in a U cert) - let alone a 15 cert.

* The seeming ready acceptance of all but utterly blatant discriminatory rhetoric despite its official classification as requiring clear disapproval in its usage.

?

Re: Forum Rules

@RobC

I am sure the moderators have a good knowledge of the rules, if they did not we would see a number of forum members making complaints.

The only time I have ever seen this happen was when this section of the forum was locked down due to inappropriate personal comments which went too far.

So why is it that you appear to be the only one asking a range of questions about forum rules ?

If there is some specific issue you have with one or more of the rules by all means state it but do not continually nitpick on every single word and demand answers and explanations to every answer given.

Consider using the forum for enjoyment and sensible discussion keeping in mind we all have the right to alternative views on everything irrespective of if they are correct or not,

Roll_eyes

Duuhhhh ... Not those under 16 ... as stated in the forum rules and the sign up page ....

Interesting that you appear to be attempting to assume the responsibilities and authority of the operators, let alone moderators

or are you just trying to smog the actual issue as usual ... however amateurishly

Re: Forum Rules

@RobC

That's a typical response from you.

When replying to posts please use a bit of common sense.

I am not going to waste my time adding things like, open to all providing they are 16 and over, this emphasises my point about the nitpicking aspects of your comments.

Re: Forum Rules

Roll_eyes

That members needed to be over 16 is one of the crucial aspects referred to in the original post IS IT NOT?

and I even simplified it into bullet points when you or one of your mutual thanking cheer buddies went 'huh?

..

especially with regard to the 'family friendly' justification for censorship of actually harmless items that apparently upset some supposed 'adult', as only 16+ are allowed here

It IS the point. Clarified and still missed or avoided (probably just missed)

Never mind - just order your little bent bananas for your Banana Daiquiri with extra sugar and maybe a side bowl of Palestinian nuts ... and rant at your TV screen news (BBC of course)

.. You dont even have to wait for Brexit - we already get them all anyway.
