Re: How to change a really nasty "plum" colour?

I'm back to the original grey, as they have always looked fine to me.  No problem with the darker grey either though, just the shocking pink.

I've been fully grey for a while and was unaffected by the recent "style" changes.
PS. I don't mean the stuff on top of my head.

Is there a way to change the colour on an iPhone/iPod touch?

You'd need a browser plugin that can replace CSS on a website.
I don't believe plugins are available for Safari.
Opera 9 can do this natively.  I'm not sure if that functionality is available on Opera Mini but it might be worth a look.

this forum is running on smf, which offers facilities for themes.  is there no bright spark capable of devising a few to offer to plusnet for inclusion in the user's profile?

The Plusnet Red is fine IMO and there's been very little complaint as far as I'm aware.  It is a big change to the previous so I can understand why it irks people Wink
Anyway.. Ignore my previous post.. Firefox users can change the banners like so.
-   Install Stylish - a css changing plugin
-  Once installed, right click on the stylish icon and select "Write new style >> Blank style"
In the Window that pops up...
Put Dark Bars as the name and leave the Tags blank.
In the large box, paste the following:
@namespace url(http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml);
@-moz-document domain("community.plus.net") {

.catbg , tr.catbg td , .catbg3 , tr.catbg3 td, .catbg2 , tr.catbg2 td
{
background: url(http://community.plus.net/forum/Themes/plusnet-brand-refresh/images/com_divide_new_dark.gif) repeat-x #dddddd!important;
}
}

Press SAVE when you're done and you find that the Pink bars are replaced with darker bars.

Just changed it to dark bars what an improvement  Smiley
Thanks a lot it's helped to take the strain off my eyes  Tongue
