When an item has been moved, because the mods think it is in the wrong place... why can`t it be a "one click" operation to be able to view that moved item in it`s "correct" (new) location..
At present... if you click on an item that has the "moved" notice... you get to another place, where you have to click again, on the linky, before actually reading the post concerned.

Mods have an option to either leave a placeholder OR they can move it without the placeholder. Leaving the placeholder is more of a curtesy for anyone who frequents certain boards or if a user decides to bookmark a thread. The placeholder works the same when splitting a thread too.
When all posts from a thread started in the wrong board and are moved to a brand new thread, leaving the original thread open, a new post by the mod is placed there with the details of where the thread can be found. Now.. this means that the original thread retains its ID and the new thread has a new ID.
It would be good if the link on the board view for a placeholder of a moved thread could take you directly to the new location but unfortunately there isn't a way to change this - probably because the split thread functionality uses the same code as you don't want split threads becoming a link to another new location when there is still posts contained within the original one.
Its quite hard to explain why it does it this way but overall, from an end users point of view, it makes sense to do it this way.

@jaread83 Thanks for the "smoke & mirrors" version ! ! ! ! of an explanation....
I would have thought it could have been done with a "copy & paste" as a "new thread" ( in the correct {{NEW}} location, via the mods, giving a new URL , and then the mods can then put the "moved" message together with the new URL direct to the moved "copy & paste" of the original...
The message would be "in place" on the original location, so that the original poster, and any other viewers, would see it, and click on the mods "new" (location) URL and be taken directly there.
