Plusnet Community News Feed

I cannot work out how to subscribe to the Plusnet Community feed.  I use the Microsoft Feed Headlines gadget but that does not seem to be listed.

Re: Plusnet Community News Feed

Perhaps you are making it too complicated by using a gadget, I just login with my browser (Firefox).

Re: Plusnet Community News Feed

I already use the Microsoft gadget to display, for example, the BBC news headlines and other news of interest.  If I see a headline of interest I can click to read a short synopsis and there is then a option to read the full content in my web browser.  I don't see that as too complicated.
My subscribed feeds are listed in Internet Explorer (between the favourites and history listings).

Re: Plusnet Community News Feed

For some reason that feed doesn't seem to work in IE 9. If you Google "Internet Explorer Feedburner" there have been some issues in the past. It is possible that the feed might not be set up correctly for IE but this is something only PN can look in to.

Re: Plusnet Community News Feed

Has someone changed something? I've just tried again and IE allowed me to subscribe to the feed and it displays in the desktop gadget.

Oh, that's what you're on about, Firefox does the same but I don't bother with it.

Re: Plusnet Community News Feed

Sorry, but I'm still missing something.  I can find (already had found) my way to http://feeds.feedburner.com/PlusNetCommunity wherupon I am met with a range of options to subscribe via things I don't use and have never heard of but no obvious option for the Microsoft Windows 7 Feed Headlines gadget that I do use.  This employs something called RSS, "Really Simple Syndication".  Plusnet use Really Complicated, it seems to me.

Re: Plusnet Community News Feed

Topic moved to Community Site and forums and I would expand the question a little
How do I get emails of updates to Outlook 2003 which uses RSS popper and also have it added to Firefox

Re: Plusnet Community News Feed

Trying again - the site I used to test didn't work the same way!
Go to http://feeds.feedburner.com/PlusNetCommunity in Internet Explorer.
On the Tools menu select Feed Discovery, Community Site News.
In the yellow box at the top click Subscribe to this feed. It should now be listed as an available feed in the gadget.

Re: Plusnet Community News Feed

Thanks, Jelv, that was really helpful.
Internet Explorer 9 now has two Tools menus!  The one you want is on a toolbar that is not displayed by default but can be summoned up by using Alt+t .
