It probably is Gary but he wants to avoid his true identitiy being revealed so he won't admit to being the poster formally known as James_H

Re: Plusnet - Please overhaul the swear filter?

Why wouldn't I admit to it - both my previous posts allude to the fact for those who are quick of wit.
If it makes you feel more comfortable I could put back my old avatar.

James_H changed his username to James_G a fair time before he stepped down as a moderator.

You really do need to point your screen reader at my name.
Or perhaps in future you ought to just use copy and paste in order to get it right.
But thanks, it is kinda nice to be around these parts again.

Re: Plusnet - Please overhaul the swear filter?

Nope - I changed my name.
My surname used to begin with the letter 'H' which is where I came up with the idea to be called James_H.
Subsequently I changed my surname to one which begins with the letter 'G', thus it seemed appropriate to use the moniker James_G for my online presence.
Dunno why anybody thought it was a typo - I mean, you would have to be trying really hard to go all the way into your profile, accidentally change the letter from H to G, and enter the password and click the button to confirm the changes.

That sounds a lot more simple than legally changing your surname just so your profile name can end in _G rather than _H  Tongue ;D.
Oops that was a bit off topic.... [Censored]

So now that we have folks who have restated their interest in reviewing the filter are we going to be allowed to participate?

I see so much written about how this is ‘our’ forum, but it is clearly not the case.

Re: Plusnet - Please overhaul the swear filter?

I think it is but remember that PN is, when all is said and done a business and so things have to be put in place to prevent offence to users or damage to PN's reputation or worse, lanfing them in legal hot water.
While you or I (along with most of the users of the forum) use it responsibly and would  not dream of doing such a thing, you have to legislate for the minority that would so I suppose I can see both sides.
What we don't want to happen is for the rules to be relaxed, someone to cause an issue (who may register just because the rules have been relaxed and they just want to sound off) and the facility to just be withdrawn or us to lose the goodwill of the comms team and others who contribute to solve our problems or just generally engage with us, right?
