Re: Spell checker?

@mechanic123 It is an option, but on my default browser (FireFox), it is easier to install the British English dictionary direct from Mozilla.

Re: Spell checker?

Thanks @Townman

I use an Apple Mac with Safari, can't remember if it did that red underlining thing. I think it did and I essentially did a Googe of "<system> <software> followed by the word 'disable'" followed by what is annoying me, which would have been that.

I am one that prefers to check my spelling after I type, not during. Perhaps it's my old age.

Also, it does give me a chance to re-read what I typed and realise how bad my grammar is, so it gives me a chance to correct it a bit. 😄

Re: Spell checker?

Some of us might miss the fact that we've misspelt a word without the highlighting … though there is always some risk of too much confidence created when a correctly spelt word turns out to be the wrong word!

Re: Spell checker?

I know what you mean there.

To save my post being edited or deleted by the mods, I'd bettter not go into some examples I've seen 🤐
