The number of topic views is wrong!

Why do the number of 'views' on a topic increase by one every time I refresh the page [F5]?.  This applies to every post on the topic!  Try it yourself on your favourite thread.  Can the powers that be fix this, otherwise the 'views' number is completely misleading.

Simple answer - every time you refresh the page, it sends a request for that page and increases the number. Totally normal behaviour, and nothing anyone can change. The system here (or on any other site) does not say 'hang on, this computer has already got the page open, I better not change the view count', it merely records another received request.
