Topic icons against topics

At the bottom of the posts listing on a board there are a list of icons which relate to the icons to the left of the post

About the only time I looked at them is when the topic became a hot topic and was one I hadn't already read (never mind posted in).

you can't really 'use' them.. they're just there.
