What happens to my Right hand Scroll Bar?

:Whenever I get a "personal message" and a notification in the little square box appears,... I click on it ,and then on the "show" bar.... the message appears, and I click reply with quote.... the box opens , I fill in my two pennarth, and...... can`t actually send it,... cos the "send" box is below the visible area on my screen... so I move my mouse pointer to the right hand scroll bar..... and there isn`t one..... so... why not?  what happens to it? ? 
Now, on the same message..... I get an email notification of the message with a linky in it to reply to.... click on the linky, and the message appears as above,... BUT ... WITH A RIGHT HAND SCROLL BAR...

What? 
So, now I am in the habit of replying, then copying the reply and pasting it when I click it again on the email version....
Can someone explain what is going on... or FIX IT PLEASE>......

I can only think that this is a quirk of the browser or maybe java/some add-on?
Anyone else having the issue? I've just tried with a PM from Chris and the scroll bar is there.

This is the only site it happens on!... Browser is FF latest version... not sure what Java version but no problems with any other sites....

That`s as may be....... but it don`t work, (properly) for me,....unless..... I click on the linky from the email notification...

I would think that was to do with JavaScript rather than Java.

It means that whether or not you have the latest Java installed, it doesn't matter with regards to what you are seeing.
Are there any JavaScript related add-ons installed in Firefox?

What it means, is...... rubbish....
You have not read the original post properly...
IT WORKS... when I click the link on an email notification..
IT DOESNT WORK... when I get the notification from this forum site ...
Ipso Facto... either Javascript works, or it doesnt work on a site....
Same site.... same java....

I have had some issues with the latest few versions of FF.
I had to - Restart FF with a clean profile
- reinstall my used tools
- then restore my prefs.js from the backup.
I have had to do this twice, although last time I just replaced the prefs.js and it fixed my error on Tesco cc's site.
Might be worth backing up your (ff) profile then restarting with a new profile and see if it still exists. Or try it in your Linux install.

OK.... IF......... it is FF..... why do I have a scroll bar on THIS page. .... and every other page , on every other site, that has them

OK...IF ...... it is FF.... why does it only decide NOT to produce a right hand scroll bar on the one page it is needed....yet another (link) to the same page gives a scroll bar ?

Unistalling and re-installing, will not make a blind bit of difference......... Will it ?  Can`t see how.... if you can explain how it will..... then I will try it... but it certainly doesn`t seem logical to me.... and after all, computers and programs are "logical" aren`t they?  Or not?

I could connect to EVERY other site fine, but Tesco CC had issues with "Detecting browser" I posted on here and no others had the same issue.
I did a clean FF boot, it connected first time, no delay.
It updated to latest version recently and same issue.
Replaced my prefs.js and it was fine.
So there is def. something wrong in FF land.
So your options:-
try it in Linux
try with a clean FF
continue to complain/live with it.

Java is unrelated to JavaScript.. it's all working fine here.

Just downloaded and installed FF22 ( latest version)... and... guess what....



















Still the same......

Do the two 'methods' of opening the page do anything different: open in new tab compared with open in new window for example?
