Re: firefox 46

I am away from home at the mo and my laptop is still on 45.0.2.

I have just remotely logged back into my home PC after rebooting as suggested earlier and still getting the same errors including the Secured Connection Failed.

I am loathed to test the Laptop by upgrading to 46 as it will make moderating troublesome againSad

I have no problems with FF but yesterday I updated to Thunderbird 45 and ran into an XPCOM error. Contacted the Mozilla forums and a lot of people had this problem. Followed their instructions and problem solved.

Do you have a link to those instructions?

Any chance @artmo ?

Re: firefox 46

@jaread83  and @Anotherone  Sorry for any delay in replying as I've been travelling back from the US.

Here is what I got from the Mozilla forums:

Clear the browser cache and the Windows Temp directory.
Shutdown any anti-virus software you are running.
Download a new copy of the full installer from http://www.mozillamessaging.com/en-US/thunderbird/
Delete the directory C:\Program Files\Mozilla Thunderbird
Run the installer.
Restart the anti-virus program.

Note that your saved messages, address books, settings, passwords, etc (if any) are stored in a different directory from the program files and will not be removed by deleting the directory identified above.

This thread viewtopic.php?f=39&t=996475&p=5239885#p5239885 has a more detailed version of the above instructions if needed.

Re: firefox 46

If it is a Lithium problem then this won't help but Firefox has updated to 46.0.1

Re: firefox 46

I've updated to FF46.0.1 now so let's see what happens?

EDIT:  Looking at the 'bugfix' for 46.0.1  two of them (at least) look very like the symptoms reported here.  At least FF appear 'more on the ball' than Lithium with speedy fixes.

Re: firefox 46

I got a secure connection failed error on desktop this morning. I have batch processing enabled, selected two threads on the unread topics list and tried marking them as read.

About to update to the latest Firefox build so I'll keep an eye out for any further instances.

Re: firefox 46

What I find curious when I regularly get the above message box with my Waterfox 46.0.1 is clicking the 'Try Again' button twice allows me to continue.

Not three or four times occasionally but twice every time.

Edit: Not so much regularly as every time I make a post or edit one.

Just encountered exactly the same now I've upgraded to 46.0.1. Same scenario as I last reported: tried marking some posts as read from unread topics using batch processing.

Re: firefox 46

FF46 is with W10 but my W7 machine is still running 45.0.1

I always thought they updated both W7 and W10 at the same time but it appears not.
