That's not going to nbe done unless SMF implement it themselves.

With regards to the default setting... now that I expect to be actually using the Search screen, I will use Greasemonkey to change the defaults for myself.

Quote from: JohnJ my main point was that the sort does not appear to be working correctly.
OK, I'll take a hint and add it as a new bug. I wasn't sure if it was or not when I added the comment.

The symptoms we are seeing are exactly the same as before - it doesn't find any recent posts.

There is nothing resolved about it all as far as I can tell. I've tried to use it a few times lately with rubbish results.
He's an example you can all try.
Search for "noise" (without the quotes!). The following is what I get -
Plain search (not advanced) - 40 pages of results, highest % 26.9, dated 2006. Most recent date I could find was in 2007.
Advanced search - 'Most recent topics first' - selected, remaining options default - 40 pages of results most recent showing was 27/10/2007 at 21.2%, the next was 17/01/2007. Missing are 30/10/2007 & 14/06/2007 (and a load more no doubt!) which were on the first page of the plain search. Also p40 showed results 15/08/2007, 13/08/2007 etc. Results seemed identical when "Check all" was deselected.
With 'Most recent topics first' & 'between 0 and 100 days' selected, it only produced 1 page of 5 results from 30/12/2008 to 12/11/2008 whether 'Check all' was selected or not.
Selecting only Broadband Speed & Community Support made no difference.
Not "resolved" in any way, I think.
Perhaps someone can explain how to get better results. I've tried other searches, in a number of instances for just one word and got 0 results, which I know is just not true. Search results for me have always produced similar to what I've just quoted.

You could possibly ask why it didn't come back out again?
Anyway, I gave up on the search and use Google.
Including "site:community.plus.net" as one of the search terms tells Google to only return results from the Community SIte.
Also, Google seems to be indexing the Plusnet Community Site very frequently, as you can often find results within a couple of minutes of them being posted!
A annoyance of this method is that the Google search frequently returns WAP or print versions of the pages and I've got to edit the URL to get them to display correctly in a standard browser.

jelv "extension bites" site:community.plus.net
shouldn't find the page it does. The phrase was posted by yourself on a page where I had also posted.

Quote from: JohnJ Could you please try and say that again with different words?

I think you've just discovered jelv's certain penchant for rhetorical questions.
