Not using a VPN.
The problem is triggered by' sending an email to c.25 recipients - not an unreasonable thing to do (a volunteer group email list - and I have larger lists which I've used without issue), When this happens, all emails - even a single recipient - are blocked for some hours. It started happening about a fortnight ago. I send roughly 6-10 email per day on average, usually to single recipients.
Re. the suggestion of spam - as a matter of course I went through due diligence to the best of my ability to check for this - multiple full scans against each device I used, checking network traffic volume, and running system restores to well before the point this started to happen.
As other users are suggesting, it looks like Plusnet have introduced some change that's had unintended consequences.

I've been having this same issue for the last couple of days! Super frustrating. Clearly something wrong on Plusnets end.
I can send about 3 emails at the moment before it refuses to send anymore for ages.
Does plusnet have an update on what is going on?

An update on my experience...
The problems I was having occurred while I was away from home connecting via a "foreign" ISP. Now I'm back home I'm having no problems at all: I can send as many emails as I want and emails with large numbers of BCC addresses send without issue.

Hi @pwberry and @lolly9416, I'm sorry to hear you're both also having issues when trying to send multiple emails recently. I can confirm we're aware of this issue and are currently looking into ways to resolve this moving forwards. I'm sorry for any inconvenience and frustration this may be causing in the meantime.

Out of interest, what platforms and operating systems (specific versions and updates) are those of you experiencing this issue using? There is every possibility that the experience is not being caused by the mail service, but rather by the characteristic of how your device is connecting to the service. The following information might be helpful...
- How accessing email - via a web browser or email client application (name and version)
- Device from which access is being made
- Operating system name and build number

- Date and time of failure (helps searching the logs)
- The first three octets of your EXTERNAL IP address - see What Is My IP Address - See Your Public Address - IPv4 & IPv6
In another browser tab, login into the Plusnet user portal BEFORE clicking the fault & ticket links

I'm using outlook (part of 365) on a macbook air. same set up for 3 years, this is the first time it's happened and now seems OK
I'm on Gb fibre to the home

I also have this problem.
- I don't use a VPN
- My ISP is TalkTalk
- I've power cycled the router
- Running Windows 7
- Same problem using Outlook 2010 and Thunderbird.
- External IP is 80.42.25.xx
My Android phone also exhibits the same symptoms, so it doesn't point to a problem with my specific client hardware/software setup.
The same problem also occurs using webmail.

We may have spotted the cause of this.
Interested to know whether or not anybody has encountered issues since Midday today?

21 recipient emails sent 3 or 4 times and all good from my end. 👍

Well, here we are again, rejected email as too many recipients.
No contact from plusnet, no resolution of problem. Pretty poor customer service I'm afraid.
