Callnetuk SMTP settings?

Hi,

I have a callnetuk email account, which I can access via webmail.plus.net.

Is there a smtp outgoing server setting for callnetuk that I can use with Mac OS mail?

thanks,

JP

Re: Callnetuk SMTP settings?

relay.plus.net should work using either STARTTLS or SSL as the authentication method and port 587.

From 31st October 2022, I no longer have a regular presence here as I’ve moved on to a new role.

Re: Callnetuk SMTP settings?

Fix

Port 587 only uses STARTTLS

Port 465 will use SSL but its use is deprecated and should be avoided.

Being a pedant, these are encryption methods.

Though often reported to be not needed if connected to the Plusnet network, the outgoing server should use the same authentication details (username and password) as the incoming server.

Re: Callnetuk SMTP settings?

Thank Gandalf,

relay.plus.net worked using port 465.
