Can't log in to Totalise email

Hi there,

 

I've been trying to log into an old totalise email that isnt used anymore because the my password isnt working i need to get in as I have an account or two registered to it, I havent been able to get into the account for two years now and was wondering if anybody could help? I've tried Madasafish and looked through different forum posts solutions to no avail.

Welcome to the forums, @Toneofvoice . If you haven't been able to access the account for two years, why did you not raise the issue two years ago? If it hasn't been accessed for that length of time, unless someone can say otherwise, I suspect it will have been deleted.

Thank you for the welcome! it is because it was unused for the most part and I had assumed that totalise was shut down or something but I have discovered an account recently that is vital I get into and can't recover the account and change the email address without dates of purchases that would be in that account anyway.

Think I get what you are saying, and I don't know what the 'Totalise' policy was on inactive accounts, but I imagine that the email component would be trashed after you had warnings sent to that account, advising that it would be closed after 'x' time if you did not access it. I am guessing you moved elsewhere when the Totalise brand was absorbed into Plusnet?

Yes that's right, I'm not sure how they would declare it inactive as it would still be receiving emails even if I wasn't logged in. Most accounts used were on a new email address before then but it was still used for small things but yes all the issues started then and at the time couldn't really find much info so just lost hope and gave up.

As I said, if you didn't access it after moving - if that was possible, and I don't know if it was, then after so long, it would be declared 'inactive', as it would be assumed you were no longer using it.

Maybe @Townman could explain in more detail?

Hi @Toneofvoice 

As far as I'm aware we don't automatically close non-subscription accounts, but we do archive mail if the mailbox hasn't been logged in during a 90 day period, though that wouldn't affect the ability to log-in.

I've refreshed the log-in component, see if you can log-in to your mailbox at https://webmail.plus.net/ and/or the portal at https://secure.madasafish.com/myaccountdx/summary/

The username in both cases would be the full Totalise e-mail address.

From 31st October 2022, I no longer have a regular presence here as I’ve moved on to a new role.
