E-mail forwarding ?

I have been trying to figure out how to do e-mail forwarding on one of my PlusNet e-mail addresses. I logged into webmail but found no options there. I then logged into the Plusnet members portal and sure enough under 'Manage Your Plunet Mailboxes' there is a tab for 'Redirects' which appears to do this. However, it would seem that in order to create a forwarder, I have to create an alias with a new name. I don't understand the logic for this? Usually forwarding is applied to an existing mailbox. However, it seems that in this case, I have to delete my existing mailbox in order to create a forwarder alias by the same name. I do not want to permanently delete my mailbox! What I would like to do is to temporarily forward from one of my existing mailboxes to another address. There is no point in creating a new alias that nobody knows in order to set up forwarding.

Re: E-mail forwarding ?

Email addresses are (just) one of three things…

1. A real mailbox
2. An alias for a real mailbox
2. A redirection - that is “Do not deliver to here, but redirect to there”

Plusnet does not support “Deliver here AND forward (copy) to there”.

Superusers are not staff, but they do have a direct line of communication into the business in order to raise issues, concerns and feedback from the community.

Re: E-mail forwarding ?

Ok, so PlusNet does not support forwarding from a real mailbox. Thank you for confirming that. It is disappointing, but certainly would explain why I could find no option to configure this.

Thank you for your response.
