Emails bounced as spam.

I'm having sent emails from a firm of estate agents (@wgblockmanagement.co.uk) and solicitors (@dacbeachcroft.com) bounced as spam. They don't even get as far as my SPAM folder, they're just bounced so I've had to revert to a spare email address which isn't ideal. I can add individuals to my white list, but not the whole domain. Although I have it set on level 1 Plusnet's SPAM filtering seems to be too aggressive. Any ideas?

Thanks

Is that you CANNOT (do not know how) or do not want to?

The SPAM list management guidance states...

  • White/Blacklist filtering does not apply to catch-all mailboxes
  • You can only enter full email or domain addresses (eg. test@test.com or test.com)
  • Each entry given must be placed on a new line
  • Wildcards cannot be used
  • Mail from senders in the Approved list will always be delivered
  • Mail from senders in the Blocked list will always be deleted

If you want to permit the whole domain, use the domain name omitting the addressee and "@" sign.

Is the in-bound mail being delivered to the DEFAULT email address and does that have the CATCHALL option set?

The semantics of the guidance could be imprecise in that originally the DEFAULT mailbox was by default a CATCHALL mailbox.  Thus the working could be read to infer that the filtering is not applied to the DEFAULT mailbox.

You could consider turning off the SPAM filtering entirely (not ideal).

First line call agent are supposed to be capable of offering help, receiving a request to investigate non-delivery ... though they are likely to need information you do not have.  It is worth giving them a call ... if they appear confused, ask that the consult ALBERT.

Would be good to know how you get on.

Re: Emails bounced as spam.

Ahh. Thanks. I’ve misunderstood, so read that as a ‘do not know how’. I’ll give it a go. But I guess I was also making a wider point that genuine businesses are having their emails treated as spam and the recipients could be oblivious.
