A warm welcome to the forums.
The email application on iPhones can be temperamental, sometimes requiring a full refresh as you are finding. On mine, from time to time the Exchange mailbox refuses to connect and update.

In another browser tab, login into the Plusnet user portal BEFORE clicking the fault & ticket links
