Re: Emails to GMail accounts being rejected

the additional MX record doesnt appear to be there either ? Is that actually published or is it just trapped by the script ?

To answer my own question, it isnt.

@Ostconsulting The SPF record now exists.

Re: Emails to GMail accounts being rejected

@iainmackay - if you haven't yet moved your email account from Plusnet and if you're still using Fasthosts as your domain host, then the following might be useful:

Login to your Fasthosts control panel, go to 'manage domains'. Then select 'DNS' in the line for your domain. Once you've done that, scroll down until you get to the section called TXT records and edit it to insert the following line:

v=spf1 a mx include:_spf-internal.plus.net include:_spf-internal2.plus.net ~all

Once you've done that you'll get a warning from Fasthosts saying you've manually edited the record and that you should change it to the standard Fasthosts record. But you can ignore that warning.

The only thing I don't know is whether that line is quite correct for a Force9 user. The 'includes' that mention Plusnet may need to be changed to something else. I don't know if any change is necessary or, if so, what the change would need to be, but I'm sure other people around here (e.g. @MisterW, who provided us with the SPF record above) will be able to tell you.

Re: Emails to GMail accounts being rejected

At least some of these posts show optimism. After a couple of months backwards and forwards complaining that gmail was rejecting emails sent using my domain name (managed by Madasafish/Plusnet) and innumerable phone calls (lengthy) in which I was able to tell them what needed to be done (DMARK, DCIM, SPF) but absolutely no response I finally got someone to admit they can't (or won't) make the changes and if I wanted to keep my domain name, I should take it somewhere else. They could have said that when I first asked (May 2023) instead of doing precisely nothing! So much for priding themselves on customer service!
