How to Change the Default Mailbox

Hi,

My late father's mailbox is currently setup as the default mailbox on my account, and I would like to change the default mailbox to my own mailbox and also delete my father's mailbox as it is obviously no longer in use.

Unfortunately, the system will not let me delete a mailbox while it is set to "default" and I can't find an option to change the default mailbox.

Any ideas anyone, any suggestions would be much appreciated!

Thanks..

Re: How to Change the Default Mailbox

@kaputz In the 'Manage my mail' page, select the 'Catch All' tab. That should allow you to select which mailbox is used as the default i.e catch-all

You can also rename the default mailbox i.e change the email address, from the main mailboxes tab

Re: How to Change the Default Mailbox

Thanks, but as far as I can tell the "Catch All" tab just allows you to select whether to direct any non-specific email addresses sent to my domain to a specific mailbox.

it's the "Mailboxes" tab that I'm interested in... I have a a number of mailboxes setup and I want to change the default mailbox.

In other words, if I have the following mailboxes setup:

a@abc123.plus.com - Default mailbox

b@abc123.plus.com

c@abc.plus.com

How do I change the Default mailbox to b@abc123.plus.com...?

Thanks again...

Re: How to Change the Default Mailbox

You would have to use the rename option on the default mailbox BUT I'd be pretty sure it wont let you change it to a name that already exists as a mailbox. You would have to delete the existing mailbox first and I suspect that's something you dont want to do. You would lose mail from that mailbox if its stored on the server i.e clients use IMAP to access it. IT's probably ok to delete if all clients accessing that mailbox use POP, which would mean the mail is stored locally on the client.
