Inappropriate emails from one domain name are clogging my mailbox

Hi I'm receiving unsolicited 40+ emails daily from a domain called 'flirtplayground.co.uk'. Subject heading alwaysstarts ....new notification from.... I have tried unsubscribing even though i have never subscribed but they haven't ceased.

In my Outlook email package on my laptop  I have managed to set Junk mail rules to have these messages automatically put into spam and have set it to blocked the domain. However they appear in my email package on my smartphone and there appears to be no method of setting similar spam/junk rules on my phone (all i can do is delete them).

I have gone into +net webmail however If i put all these emails into my SPAM/JUNK folder there does not appear to be any automatic method to block this domain name so they continue to get through. As you will be aware once my mail box becomes full then everything comes to a grinding halt. I now have to go into webmail daily to delete these so my mail can function normally.

 I have looked at the +net spam help pages but it does not seem to relate to any buttons that i have on my webmail!! I have a globalnet.co.uk email address so I am assuming the webmail used with +net email users with a plusnet.co.uk email address must have abetter version of webmail?

Any ideas how i can block this domain spam email at source so it doesnt even get onto the server as its doing my head in?

Cheers

Re: Inappropriate emails from one domain name are clogging my mailbox

I can't answer all your questions but trying to unsubscribe possibly indicates to the spammers that it's a live email address and, hence, will continue sending emails and even sell that address on.

It's never a good idea to click Unsubscribe in any potential spam emails.

In the email settings in the user portal, you can adjust your spam rules. You can black list the domain name there.

A confirmed email address has a retail value ten times greater than an unconfirmed one.

Re: Inappropriate emails from one domain name are clogging my mailbox

Hi Townman

Thanks for coming back to me

I'm sorry but not really tech savvy. What do you mean by user portal? is there a link or something that would take me there?

I have two webmail mailboxes with +net. One just sends me my bills and informs me of things like account changes or when i upgrade my fibre or similar actions. I hardly ever visit it. This mailbox uses a completely different password to my globalnet mailbox.

However, i did mange to get in and set up the block for the domain name....however as i say this is like a plusnet admin email account so nothing from my globalnet email address ever gets to it.

When i sign into my normal webmail (globalnet) mailbox I dont really have any buttons or facility (from what i can see) to change any email settings.   On some of spam help pages within plusnet it talks you through how to do it. it invariably starts by saying Click on the Spam button.... Well there is no 'spam' button that i can see on my webmail page.

Apologies but i'm a bit dim when it comes to techie stuff. neil

@nclark777

That is webmail, this is set in your main account:

Log in to your account and follow the following path:

1 Manage your Plusnet mailboxes (bottom of page)

2 Manage my mail

3  Spam tab

4 Scroll down to the bottom to the Blacklist field where you enter the address.

Re: Inappropriate emails from one domain name are clogging my mailbox

Hi again

Thanks for your inputs.

I have sent a pic. I dont see anything on the summary to show my globalnet mailbox/domain? should it be there?

I have blocked the offending e mail domain under the Diplomat1 mailboxand i also checked  also apply these changes to all my domains.

so not sure if that would incude in my globalnet webmail.

Should my global net mail box appear in this summary or under the mailboxes tab because it doesnt. However i do have a one as i'm getting mail from it???

Thoughts

@nclark777 To administer your @globalnet email, you will need to access that account.

@nclark777

Look at the band of fields in the centre of your picture. Currently Summary is shown. Scroll across to Spam.

@jab1

I must confess missing that this is Globalnet, I have no idea what the implications, are of this.

I am simply answering the question of how to access the Plusnet blacklist facility.
