Keeping email address from one account and attaching it to another email account.

Hi  I have no tech skills.  Basically I have 2 Plusnet accounts, one at my home address and one at my 98 year old Mothers.  I have never set up an email address at my home address but I have set up a plusnet email address on the account at my Mothers home as that was the first account I had.  My Mother is due to go into a Care home in the next few months so the BB etc at her address will get cancelled.

Is there any way to keep that email address so I can continue to use it at my home address?

The account user names are xxxxxxxx@ at my Mums and xxxxxxxx01@  at my home basically the same word with 01 added.

I have asked the customer service person but they said if the account is cancelled the email address is also cancelled.

@dreamer1 and I'm afraid they're correct. The email address is directly linked to the account and if the account is cancelled its lost.

You could create a new mailbox on your account as xxxxxxxx01 but the full email address would be xxxxxxxx01@ <youracccount>.plus.com and not xxxxxxxx01@ <yourmumsaccount>.plus.com

Thank you for your reply.  I thought I had read that there was a way to keep the email address.  Maybe what i should do is cancel the bb account at my home address and transfer the contract from my Mums address to my home address?  I should have thought about this before I renewed my contract at my home address today as it is due next month.

There used to be a way but that option was stopped some time ago!.

Be careful that you don't become liable for Early Termination charges on your account...

Re: Keeping email address from one account and attaching it to another email account.

I have just spoke to an advisor and he has cancelled the renewal of contract which was in progress at my home address so I will move to paying an out of contract sum monthly there from next month and when the contract comes up for renewal at my Mums in August I will renew that one.   When I need to I will cancel the out of contract account at my home and ask them to move the contract at my Mums to my home.  The advisor says that will work and it means I can keep my email address.

Thank you for your help.
