Re: Email down since yesterday evening

For me the IMAP inbox server is working moderately well with emails arriving and syncing in bursts. None of the other IMAP folders are syncing and time out with a disconnection. Unable to transfer mail between folders or see other than the inbox. Sending via relay.force9.net is once in a blue moon. It’s difficult to understand how hardware replacements or backup recoveries could take so long.

Re: Latest Email Problems

You say "we" don't update the main web page, but the original poster is correct with this very valid point:

"Thanks for the link, can you tell me how you would find that from a starting point of the Plusnet home page? I tried the Help & Support page but couldn't find anything that would indicate that there is a current major problem."

When this problem started I KNEW there was a service status page, from past problems. So I went to your help/support pages to find it. It is not linked to from there. So after wasting my time trying to find it I googled it and couldn't see it. Eventually I spotted it, and it's not on the plusnet domain so looks third party but I tried it and it was correct.

Others in this thread seem to be almost sarcastic that the OP should know about the Service Status page, but the problem here lies with the Plusnet, not the customers. Why in the name of all things computer related do plusnet have a service status page that is not linked to or findable their help and support pages - so the only way to find it is to know it exists and then google to find it coming from anothet angle? It's total madness.

SERVICE STATUS should be a primary link on the main help and support page.

Re: Another cannot send email

Hi Paul,

Things seem much better late this morning when using IMAP clients.  Webmail login still appears to be temperamental.  I has requested a service update notice.

I suspect that the situation is that the cause is fixed, but there are still substantial backlogs to be flushed through the mail servers ... degrading webmail more than usual.

Re: Where Are My Emails?

I quite agree - the message they have though does imply things are pretty much fixed and, if you are still seeing issues, you may be an exception.  I suspect this is not true for many people.

globalnet server not authenticating from outlook since outage

The globalnet server mail.globalnet.co.uk is not accepting connections form outlook to either upload or down load email. The failure only applies to one windows machine and only after the current failures in connecting to the old globalnet/madafish servers.

Currently the other devices (5 windows and multiple ios devices are all connecting and downloading fine ) - the message states that it is a login username failure - followed by a second stating the server had an -ERR and its temporary try later.

So why only one machine ?

I have tried all the port/service types and re-entered the username and passwords many times.

Is there some filtering somewhere blocking just this host ?

Please help as at wits end

Re: Not able to send emails

Same here.

The "incoming" mail issue I'd think might be complicated but why is SENDING email taking days to fix??????

To my understanding it's a hugely more simple thing.

This is taking days to fix now from a big big company and I think I'm with many others that our patience is wearing thin.

@PeterPiper That's good to know, that's the same Port I am using and mine won't go.

I've still not seen either the emails or non-delivery notifications for the forwarding test emails I sent around 8am on Wednesday,  however I have had a delivery status message from Plusnet mail servers saying that the test email I sent at 16:21 on Wednesday has been delayed more then 24 hours and "has not yet been delivered".

Re: No email this morning 10 November

Although on my laptop the outgoing server is 465, so perhaps I should change my phone to that.

I wholeheartedly agree, and that's why I've already feedback that it should be easier to find from the H&S pages, even though in an emergency they'll maybe be down.

Re: Using Thunderbird and Cant SEND mail

Is it confirmed that this issue is the reason why I cannot SEND email from Thunderbird, but have no problems receiving?

Re: No Email Access

I can send emails now but it fails initially but does get processed eventually.
Outlook email client has downloaded messages from Wednesday but it’s set up as an SMTP client. I normally keep my emails on the server occasionally using outlook to flush the server.

Webmail basic version does pull Mail down but the advanced one does nothing.

Direct messaging on Twitter feed does get some response but is still basically we are working on it we know it’s broke.

Re: Where Are My Emails?

IMAP still not working properly with most folders inaccessible or timing out.
