Changing the port to 587 seems to have fixed the issue. 

 

Maybe its time to remove port 25 from the FAQ? It worked fine for me right up until a few days ago.

Port 25 should NEVER have been included in the guide.  Call it pedantry, but for email client message SUBMISSION it is technically wrong.  The fact that using the MX message RELAY port might work does not mean it is correct.  I just do not understand why users persist in using it.

Historically connections to 'off-network' servers on port 25 were firmly blocked.

The fact that port 25 is wrong and the encryption reference to STARTTLS is confusing has been raised several times over a long period ... and it remains unchanged!  @James_B 

Superusers are not staff, but they do have a direct line of communication into the business in order to raise issues, concerns and feedback from the community.
