Re: Thunderbird e mail (plusnet)

FYI @stathe First line support - and even 2nd or 3rd - do not know how you are set up at home, and are not necessarily conversant with all email clients.

Re: Thunderbird e mail (plusnet)

There doesnt seem to be any other reports of problems with the email system today.

In order to try and understand where your problem may be, are you able to send email from your account using the Webmail facility ?

Re: Thunderbird e mail (plusnet)

Yes but webmail, is slow to load

That would indicate that the problem is in your configuration of Thunderbird

In the outgoing (smtp) server , the following should be the settings,

server name - relay.plus.net

port - 587

connection security - STARTTLS

authentiaction method - normal password

username - your plusnet accountname

password - the password you use to access the member centre

@stathe

In Thunderbird on Linux, (Windows may be similar), go to: Edit > Settings > Account Settings (bottom left corner) > then click on "Server Settings" on the left under each email account.

Re: Thunderbird e mail (plusnet)

As Yahoo/Gmail are web-based 'programs', I doubt you can run them through TB?

Re: Thunderbird e mail (plusnet)

OK, @Mr_Paul . As my GMail account is for 'emergency' use only, I have never looked into routing it through TB, so apologies for my ignorance.
