The setup I had at 123-reg before it got trashed was that all my main forwarding rules were on domainA. I On domainB I just had a single rule that forwarded *@domainB to *@domainA. That retained the value of [*] so I didn't need duplicate rules for each domain. Do you know if there's anything similar on MythicBeasts' system?
@Boxersoft not done it myself, but I think 'domain grouping' will do what you want

Superusers are not staff, but they do have a direct line of communication into the business in order to raise issues, concerns and feedback from the community.

Ah, yes, it looks like that will work nicely - thanks very much, that's probably saved me some time hunting around a system I'm not yet familiar with.
I haven't yet found a "community forum" type site for MythicBeasts, do you know if there is one? I'm coming across a few such newbie questions that aren't obviously covered in the support pages but would probably be well suited to asking on a forum.

MB Support are excellent - just send them an email.

@Boxersoft I would recommend that you forget about Plusnet e-mail, even plusnet staff are saying it will not be around for much longer, it is already withdrawn for new customers. No actual end date has been announced but be warned.
Be aware that the SUs have an active discussion at the highest level about these unsubstantiated and confusing comments from CS Agents. There have been years of speculation on this subject, none of which have indicated what the end game might be. Until there is a formal announcement, it is business as usual.

I did, and they were. I have since learned that they don't have dedicated support staff but instead have their tech guys cover the help desk on a rota. What a refreshing change!
Have to say I'm very impressed with Mythic Beasts and their platform, I haven't yet found anything I don't like. I've now migrated my email and websites to to them and they're working very nicely (especially webmail - the PlusNet one was dire). In due course I'll be moving my domain registration to them too, and bidding good riddance to 123-reg whose changes and poor communication have caused me quite a bit of hassle.
Thanks very much @Townman and @MisterW for recommending Mythic Beasts.

A customer's tuppence.
I have a new sparkly (fibre-only) account with Pnet (via BTOr). I'm not seeing any e-mail provision with it.
Support for older accounts (with associated/related e-mail accounts and support) may continue, for some value of 'support'. I've had a very old "e-mail only account". I used to pay for it. Then it became with no charge. The domain management/renewal came with no charge.
At that point I invoked "you get what you pay for".
Then e-mail only accounts became a non-option.
Managed decline?

Would not use mythicbeasts, not sure why so many people recommend them £1.67/mo for email hosting is outrageous, I pay £6/yr per mailbox at spaceship
Also email forwarding can be done using cloudflare, for completely free.

So if you have 4 mailboxes that's £24/yr, Mythic is £20 for unlimited mailboxes! which means it provides similar facilities to the PN email system
Also email forwarding can be done using cloudflare, for completely free
but not to gmail apparently https://community.cloudflare.com/t/email-routing-from-cloudflare-to-gmail/531568 since they (like most free forwarding services?) don't use SRS

If one’s need is a single mailbox without one’s own domain there might be better alternatives… possibly even allowing Google to mine your email content with a single user free email address. For those having their own domain and multiple mailboxes MB offered great value for money. It is functionally rich having all the functionality of the Plusnet service and more besides.
My other goto supplier LCN.com now charges per mailbox and they are now £5pcm so cannot be recommended on cost.
The status of the Plusnet service has now been clarified - personally I am sitting tight - the (main brand) service provides everything I really need, it’s free and is not going anywhere. MAAF users wanting to send emails using their own domain name to gmail users do though have a specific issue which might drive them to different choices.

Only if your outrage threshold is remarkably low. I needed a solution quickly, I didn't want to spend ages scouring the web for the cheapest offering possible.
I have three mailboxes, so that would be £18 at Spacehip anyway. I also wanted web hosting, so Mythic's smallest mail + web hosting package suits me nicely and I'm not going to go apoplectic about thirty quid a year. I think an extra £18 per year for shell access is a bit steep though.

For those who want to look around, there are lots of comparison sites - such as this - 10+ Best Email Hosting UK Services in 2023 (Tested & Reviewed) (ukwebhostreview.com)
Be careful in what you read, many of these summaries confuse the terms "Email address", "email box" and "users" when describing charges. Some charges are per user / mail BOX (which might have several email addresses [aliases]) whereas others are a charge for the service, bandwidth and storage, which you can divvy up across as many mailboxes / users as suits your needs ... much the same as the Plusnet email service permits.

@MisterW had no issues with gmail with cloudflares free email forwarding
OP also mentioned moving his websites, would it not be suitable for OP to be using the shared email hosting thats built into most webhosting plans?

Would also like to mention theres free alternatives like Zoho, that offer completely free hosting for I believe 5 mail boxes.

But Zoho's completely free plan does not provide the service most people want - POP3/IMAP local client (not on a phone) access. It is limited to 5 users with a 25MB attachment limit.
It will suit some users, but I suspect not many.
