Webmail login failure - freenetname mailbox

Hi,

I am getting the message "Login failure" when I try and log into my webmail.

My password has never changed.

I suspect some sort of glitch at the server end?

I would like to receive some emails that say Happy Christmas.... !!!!

Thanks,

Re: Webmail login failure - freenetname mailbox

Looking back at you history @fairmaiden , you were using a mail client - have you now stopped using that?

Re: Webmail login failure - freenetname mailbox

Hi,

I am using Vodafone dongle / Windows 7 / WLM.

WLM is irrelevant as I am just trying to go straight to webmail (if that works then my

emails will download to WLM).

I have been on this configuration for 20+ years...... about once I year Plusnet have a

problem with freenetname access (server updates or something), they check it out and

suddenly everything is OK again!! You can probably see that from my previous posts

over the years.

Re: Webmail login failure - freenetname mailbox

IF you are using WLM, there should be no need to log into webmail. What happens if you use WLM directly?

Re: Webmail login failure - freenetname mailbox

It keeps asking for my password.

At present I cannot send or receive emails.

I assumed I was accessing the same server whether I go via webmail or

download to WLM?

Re: Webmail login failure - freenetname mailbox

Okay, @fairmaiden . Looks like this need either someone with more knowledge of email, or PN intervention. Sorry I can't help any further.

Re: Webmail login failure - freenetname mailbox

Fix

Thanks for getting in touch @fairmaiden

Seems really od that you're having issues logging into Webmail to be honest, everything looks okay on our end. I've just refreshed the mailbox and portal login components on the account, are you okay to give it another go?

Re: Webmail login failure - freenetname mailbox

Weird.......

I have just been trying out different port numbers (587, 993, 995), restarting WLM each time, then decided

to go back to the non-encrypted 25/110 combination and ALL my emails have downloaded !!!

I have now just tried to log into my webmail and - YES - I can log in perfectly OK.

I am assuming that someone somewhere has done something otherwise I wouldn't be able to

log into my webmail??????

I would love to know what has happened.

Re: Webmail login failure - freenetname mailbox

Hi,

I think our posts crossed - it looks like the refresh possibly did it - I also have an email in the Inbox from Plusnet

about unsolicited email and that my account may have been compromised and that I was temporarily blocked from

the email servers.

However, it looks OK now and I will change my password - can experts on here check if an account is blocked

or not? It may save time with other people who have problems.

Thanks to everyone and Happy Christmas!

Re: Webmail login failure - freenetname mailbox

Thanks a lot for getting back to us @fairmaiden and I'm glad to hear that refreshing the components on our end appears to have sorted it. There are no issues with the account on our side, so I reckon we're good. Smiley

If you have any further issues though, pleas do feel free to reach out.

Merry Christmas!
