I have a force9 email address. I use em client or webmail to access it. I changed IP addresses a few weeks ago (moved to vodafone). All has worked up to yesterday (though the last email sent via em client was 5 days ago).
I can receive emails via em client. But this morning I was not able to send an email via the f9 account using em client. I could send an email via the webmail.
I get a popup telling me that a Password is required for mail.force9.net and "Server says authentication rejected as source IP has a poor repulation"
The log says "unexpected end of stream"
Now the one thing extra I would add is that I was using that developing an application sitting on top of Directus that is on my machine, when logging into that application, I got the same message in the log as warning; it didn't stop the log in but obviously something is wrong somewhere.
I don't think it is anything to do with vodafone - that has worked for a few weeks.
Is this error caused by force9 putting the ip address on a watchlist?
I have tried using em client on another PC and get the exact same problem.
I will try rebooting the modem and get back.
Fixed! Go to the fix.

@johnnorris-10 If you have moved to another ISP, you will have 'lost' the f9 address - PN no longer (as of June last year) allow leavers to retain their email account.

@johnnorris-10 it would appear that the public IP you've been allocated by Vodafone recently, has aquired a reputation for sending spam. It probaly due to the use by someone who previously had that IP.
I will try rebooting the modem and get back.
That can often help, as each time you reconnect, you MAY get allocated a different IP. In any case the reputation usually clears after 24 hrs or so.
I could send an email via the webmail.
You will be able to send via webmail, as that is hosted on a Plusnet machine and so effectively you are sending from a Plusnet IP address.

Superusers are not staff, but they do have a direct line of communication into the business in order to raise issues, concerns and feedback from the community.

@MisterW I thought PN/F9/MAAF email addys were lost when you moved ISP?

I rebooted the modem and force9 no longer rejecting sent emails.

I left force9 several years ago and have gone thru' many ISP's since then (well four).
Initially I paid £1 a month to keep my address and then Plusnet made it free.
So I still have the address. And hopefully always will.

I thought PN/F9/MAAF email addys were lost when you moved ISP?
@jab1 a good point. I'm assuming that @johnnorris-10 has a legacy force9 email account ?
