BT Sport App in Europe

Just thinking about the £10 deal for the app for 6 months. I might be away for a fair bit of that time in Spain. The advert and PN T&C's say it can be used and cast in most countries in Europe. However, BT themselves in all their info about it suggest in can only be used in the UK.

Can anyone confirm whether I can view and cast sport on the App in Europe.

I believe it is not possible to use abroad as the source IP Address geolocation is checked before the app will start streaming live or catch up programs.

Unfortunately we are not to discuss anything which might be considered illegal here

I just watched the super cup highlights on the app in Europe- however that’s over 4g which would report a uk ip (it still uses the home provider gateway).
But it hasn’t asked for my location

You would need a healthy mobile data limit to watch anything streaming using 4g. I'm with Vodafone and they set a monthly mobile data limit when roaming. Other providers may differ, I would suggest checking.

To allow me to remote access to my home network I have a VPN server, which gives me no substriction access
