I’m toying with the idea a stopping my landline but am wondering how I will get my broadband without a land line. Can anybody enlighten me please? Thanks in advance

@laraineq

Exactly the same way as you do now - over the copper line. OpenReach have a product called SOGEA which is for internet only lines.

In general terms, it is PTSN that is being withdrawn - not the copper lines it uses.

Thanks Brian
So we don’t need to do anything? Is it easy to set up? I’m just worried we’ll lose broadband for a time

@laraineq

You just need to contact PN to action the change though it'll cost a new contract. There should be little or no downtime.

You might be able to do it online. Login to your Members page and look at Upgrade offers. See what's on offer. If nothing then phone PN to see what your options are and what deals are available.

I assume you're happy losing your landline completely and not looking at VOIP.

Re: Broadband with no landline

Once again thanks Brian. I have had an email from PN saying I can lose my landline. As I don’t know what VOIP is I’d guess I’ll not be looking at that 😂

@laraineq

Voice Over Internet Protocol - basically a digital landline.

PN don't offer this and if you don't need a landline then you don't have to thing about it. I merely mentioned it as you have 30 days to move your current landline number after it is ceased to a VOIP provider.
